Made an appointment to have my brakes and oil changed several months ago. After they changed the oil, I get a call telling me that it would cost $750 to replace my FRONT brakes and rotors. I tell them nevermind, I got a quote from another place for $400. Then I'm told "okay, we can match that price". No argument or explanation of why suddenly it's okay to do it for hundreds cheaper. (I assume they wanted to take advantage because I'm a female). So, I tell them if they'll match the price then I agree to get it done since I had taken off of work to do so. It's only a few months later and my brakes are already squeaking again. I highly doubt they even changed the rotors to make up for the price difference. Don't trust this place, they will rip you off and their work ethic is questionable.

Joe and John were very helpful. Had a battery with a 3 year warranty and FREE replacement. It was still in the warranty period and needed to be replaced. Originally I was going to give 1 star because company policy is to charge if the price of the battery went up ($100) and I was charged this amount. After numerous calls and emails to Pep Boys headquarters they gave the OK to reverse the charge. They need to learn what "Free" is and change their policies.

This place is a joke, only not funny. I went there to get two new tires. The guy behind the counter made me wait five minutes, asked me what I want, five more minutes, told me he's gonna check my tire size, five more minutes on the way outside while he got into a conversation with a coworker. Then told me he can do it tomorrow. He gave me a choice of different tires and we agreed for 2pm tomorrow. The next day I show up, a different man is there, checks my tires again and tells me he can't do it because my front tires are a different brand and he's not supposed to mix brands.... Nothing I can do.

This place and the guys here have been an absolute God send for me and my daughter with our cars. We bought cars from Carvana and had to bring to them for diagnostic inspections and they were thorough and most helpful with the SilverRock process. I also have an older car which my daughter and I are keeping as a "back-up" and they have been diligent and helpful with the repairs needed for this car as well. We have been talking and working with John, Joe, Dwayne, Jay, and Ryan so much we feel like they are family! They are knowable, assuring, comforting, personable and diligent with keeping in touch with status on the cars. Thank you Pep Boys Wanaque Crew!

I have been taking both of my vehicles to this Pep Boys location for years (since they opened.) I made an appointment to get my tires rotated - a free service Pep Boys provides. The "technician" asked when the last time was I had it done. (He could have easily looked at my service records). I told him that I did not know the exact odometer reading, but it had been at least 10,000 miles. He walked out to my car, quickly looked at the rear driver's side tire and said that it was not recommended at this time. I explained that it was long overdue considering the owner's manual recommends a tire rotation every 5,000 miles. He walked back into the store, completely ignoring me as I attempted to talk to him. The "technician" should know by having your tires rotated, you maintain a more even amount of tread on your tires by helping prevent uneven tire wear. It's not something that can be determined whether it needs to be done by looking at one of the tires. It was very apparent that the "technician" had no interest in performing this free service, even though I had been a customer there for years. Up until now, my experience there has always been great. But now I will likely never go back. I have a call into Pep Boys corporate office and am waiting to hear back from their leadership team.

Beware of this Haskell/Wanaque service shop! First off... The names of some 5 star reviews here are mostly written by the store employees themselves (read their names) or older reviews for technicians/staff that no longer work there! Current staff seem unusually inexperienced about knowledge of vehicle parts, pricing, and where they're located on the vehicle. Also, they give the classic old "bait and switch" giving you one quote when making appointment then increasing the price once there for appointment! They have done this a few times now recently!

I got an estimate for tires and brakes in May. The estimate was 2500$ when I went to get it done they called me and gave me another price. Want to know what the price was? 5000$! how did it go to double the price????? I would never recommend this place to anyone and I will never go back in my life. Of course I went to another place (they want to charge me the same as the dealer...???!!!! ridiculous)

I almost don't want to praise this location too much, because I don't want too many people flocking to what I like to call "my own Pep Boys". I've had new tires installed here with the help of John picking the right ones for my vehicle, oil changes, complimentary tire rotations and vehicle inspections, new brakes installed, and windshield wipers installed as well. It really is the best Pep Boys and any car service location I have been to! This is the only place I take my vehicle to when it needs servicing. I easily schedule my appointment online and always pick the 8am slot. I stop here on my way to work (which begins at 9am) and wait while my vehicle is being serviced. 9 times out of 10, I make it to work by 9am, because I pick the earliest slot and because the guys that work here are just that good and efficient to get me in and out. There was one instance where I had to leave my vehicle for the day and also had to get into work. Pep Boys and Lyft have a negotiation, where Pep boys ordered a FREE Lyft for me to get to work and then once the services were completed on my vehicle, they ordered a FREE Lyft from work back to their location. John and Ryan at the front desks are the best! They both are friendly, cooperative, very knowledgable, caring, trustworthy and honest. I don't feel like I am being taken advantage of or scammed, they provide discounts when possible and tell me exactly what needs to be done to my vehicle and if it can wait or not. The guys in the back must do a great job, because my vehicle always comes back to me just the way I left it and with no problems afterwards. This place is easy-going, quiet and not packed! As much as I love it as "my own" Pep Boys, please do come here and experience the amazing service this location can provide you and your vehicle.

I’m Soo upset. They don’t have good workers no body cares. They did my breaks. And none stop I hear noises. I went to differnt mancanic n they told me they messed it up it’s not done right soo I went to pep boys n I left ky car soo they can look n fix what was wrong but nope my car I left yesterday no body even looked at it I have to work soo not only I lost all day w out my cat becuz no body is doing what they should today no body knows why my car is there omg !!! Another day no work n my car still broken ! I’m Soo fed up I wouldn’t go to them but I have receipts. Let them Fix what they broke why should I pay money if they didn’t do it right !!! Go to small busssiness not there !!!! I think everyone should give them Bad reviews maybe someone will care !!!

John is the best. I brought my daughter’s car in last minute before she was hitting the road to go back home in upstate New York. Her tire was flat and I needed them to help in a moment’s notice. Took the car in, educated me on the correct tire pressure to keep and did a once over of all tires before handing the car back to make sure she’d be all right on the road by herself. Thanks to the staff but a special shout out to John for being a great person.
