OUT OF TOWERS BE VERY CAREFUL! I am very disappointed I THINK 1 STAR IS 1 TO MANY FOR THIS PLACE. We were traveling through in July when our car broke down in Artesia. The people at the hotel recommended we go to Rubios Auto Repair. We were told that the power steering lines needed to be changed. $560.00 later we were picking up our car and there was a puddle under the car. The owner of the place said " Oh the pump must be bad too" you would think that as mechanics they would have called and recommended that the pump be changed too... they did not! $250.00 later we came home. Here we are September 2 months later to the day and my power steering was giving me problems. My son (a mechanic) looked at it. He removed the power steering pump and low and behold Rubios put in a re-manufactured pump, i paid for a new one. I don't even think that he put in new lines because one of them was coming apart. WOW I SPENT OVER $800.00 in total. I hope that they do not always do this to people they don't know. All that being said I also own a business and I would never do that to my customers. I hold my employees to a higher standard. I have lived in New Mexico all my life and I would never recommend this place EVER.

We took our F150 into the shop unknowingly how well the service was based only upon reviews and we were 100% satisfied with the service and the time it took for the repair to be compketed. Also they were very gracious on the time it took us to pick it back up due to personal matters. Thank you all at Rubios we will recommend you to anyone we know needing any vehicles repaired.

I have a 1995 Ford Taurus Station Wagon. It had a cooling leak and the check engine light would come on after about 1 mile. I took it to Rubio's and told him the problems. He called me and told me that it was the timing cover and the tube to the water pump that was leaking coolant. I asked him to fix it, The next day I went to pick up the car, $1357.00. He had fixed the coolant leak and told me that the check engine light was caused by the EGR vacuum solenoid. I took the car home and changed the solenoid. It didn't fix it. I took it back and he said that he would put it on the computer. The computer told him that the engine was running lean so he changed the fuel filter - $67.00. I took the car home and saw an oil leak. I took it back to him. When I told him about the oil leak he looked under the car and said that it was coming from the top. He would have to take the top apart to find the leak. I took the car home, took the top apart, and saw no evidence of the leak. I removed the fender well cover and saw that the leak was from the timing cover. I took the car back on Friday morning. Late that afternoon I called to see if he was finished. He told me that he had let the car run for about one hour to see that there were no leaks but that the tube to the water pump had begun to leak. Three days later (after the weekend) I called to find out that the car was ready for me to pick up. I went and got the car. I drove it back to work. Edward called me and told me that his wife had said that I was rude. I had gone in, talked with one of the workers, asked his wife if she was through with me, said "Thank You", and left. When I got home, I found out that the tube to the water pump was leaking worse than it had when all of this started. I believe that Rubio wanted to intimidate me by accusing me of being rude so that he wouldn't have to fix what he had charged me $1400.00 for. I would recommend that anyone with auto problems stay far away from Rubio's.
