Last week, My 97 year old neighbor’s walker from a different vendor broke down, and she needed one on the spot. Walgreens staff Shannon Pegram was the most helpful worker I ever met. She went out of her way to assemble and make the walker ready for use. Knowing that was not her nor the pharmacy’s job, We were both amazed at the way she managed the walker in no time with a very pleasant attitude. She was so respectful, patient and efficient. I give her A+. And 5 stars to Walgreens for hiring people like her.

This is not a 1-star review for Walgreens Pharmacy, but a 1-star review for this Walgreens Pharmacy location. This pharmacy has a lack of staff support that results in their customers waiting 1+ hours in line to pick up a prescription. They also never pick up their phones so don’t bother. Their staff is also not helpful whatsoever. Lastly, this location in particular NEVER updates prescription statuses on the app, so you, once again, never know when your script is ready for pickup. Sucks they don’t answer their phone, so you have to wait in their awfully long line, and your script still might not be ready. Waste of time. Don’t fill here.

This pharmacy has a lack of staff support that results in their customers waiting 1+ hours in line to pick up a prescription. They also never pick up their phones so don’t bother. You arrive, wait in line for 20 minutes, only to be told that the prescription was never filled in the first place and you will have to wait an additional 20 minutes until it is ready. This is the norm and not the exception. Stuytown and East Village residents, if you need a pharmacy, do NOT choose this one.

Ashley the pharmacist at this Walgreens just saved LITERALLY my whole entire month and I could not be more grateful!! In the middle of a national shortage for my medication, after FOUR other pharmacies couldn't help me, she hooked me up with my prescription in under an hour! And she was so kind throughout the process, both on the phone and in person. Like to be real for a second, as a trans person prescribed 2 different schedules of controlled substances, I'm used to being treated a certain way when I try to fill my prescriptions outside my clinic, and today I was treated not as a problem but as a human being. It was so refreshing! I wish every pharmacy had an Ashley but I can attest that most absolutely don't, so Walgreens, you better take good care of her! Thank you Ashley!

Absolute dumpster fire. Things as routine as toothbrushes, hair products, and lotions and creams are behind lock and key. I literally had to ring the bell for every item. They don’t come over particularly quickly either. The pharmacy is sluggish, does not answer phone, and could not figure out my insurance, trying to charge me $1,179 for a cream. Also overly draconian about selling over the counter allergy medicine. They would not accept my Nexus Card as form of ID. If the US border can accept it in place of a passport, Walgreens sure can too. They are just rigid and like to be difficult. >20 people in check out line. I don’t understand why they don’t have self checkout like literally every other drugstore. In my estimation, I am usually in this store 20 minutes longer than I need to be. Sadly it is the closest to my home, but I now make a point of going to literally any other pharmacy while out and about in Manhattan.

Well, it certainly looks like a pharmacy. Had a sinus infection and had my prescription sent here. I’m currently in between insurances, was prepared to pay out of pocket. Got here around 1:20pm, waited on line for the pharmacy until about 5 minutes later someone came over and said, “The pharmacy is closing. You’ll have to come back at 2pm.” OK. That’s annoying, but I leave and come back at 2. I’m third on line before they open. When my time finally comes, the pharmacist says they got my prescription, but they are backed up and it’s not ready yet. They ask what insurance I have and I say, “None, I’m paying out of pocket.” They tell me that I will get a text when it’s ready. They don’t have an estimate—don’t want to get my hopes up—but some time today. After dinner, around 7pm, I still haven’t received a text from Walgreens saying it’s ready, just an opt-in text from earlier in the day. I walk over and it’s 7:20pm. I wait on line again. When I finally get to the pharmacy, the pharmacist says they don’t have my insurance on file and didn’t fill it. They tell me I can sit on the chair nearby and wait ten minutes for them to fulfill it. And here I am sitting on this chair, writing this review. This Walgreens is nicer than the cvs across the street, but lacks competence. I will be back for run of the mill toilet paper, snacks, and things, but I will never get a prescription filled here again.

Came here to have my son vaccinated. The pharmacist was rude to him he’s just a kid !!!! barely slapped on a band aid and didn’t recommend he wait to make sure he’s okay ! I had to ask if he should !!!! We waited over an hour for our appointment in a crowded area! It’s a joke! Be safe go somewhere else!!!

Ok I have been going to this wall Greens since I live over in Sty Town and I always had nice staff but during covid 19.. look I understand everyone is very nervous about this but I went to wall greens like 20 min ago and there where no lines and I was probably in there for about 8 min on the phone with my family asking what they wanted me to get and the dark skin woman security said cause of covid 19 if your not gonna buy anything I'm gonna have to ask you to leave.. I looked at her and said ok I'm out in very upset that a dark skin woman security asked me to leave!!!! Very disappointed ☹️
