I saw the good reviews and wanted to use these folks in an emergency. I am not a regular client here as my cat travels with me from out of state. He has all of his paperwork showing he is up to date with all his vaccinations, etc. Yet when I tried to get my cat's thick nails clipped, I was told that he needed an $85 wellness check! Had my cat had a health issue, I would have gladly paid the $85 (even though it is $40 more than my regular vet), but I just needed his nails clipped and felt more confident with at a vets office. Did not go to Pet Smart bc of all the bad reviews. Now I have to hunt down a place to go. Groomers will take you with proof, guess vets don't trust each other and having documentation means nothing. Not happy.

They were there for me when my dog needed to cross the rainbow bridge unexpectedly. They gave me a same day appointment so my little guy did not have to suffer any longer. They let me say my peace and gave me extra time to do so. Very gentle to him in his last hours. Couldn’t be more grateful.

I've been coming here for years (ever since my 1st cat in 2004) and EACH time it was amazing. From the front admins to the assistants and the doctors they are extremely professional, communicative and most of all, friendly which is difficult to see in Queens or NY in general. My cat, D-2, was sick for the 1st time today BUT I know I was in good hands after speaking to Dr. Halpern. Keep up the good work guys.

Nice staff BUTTTT their pricing is ridiculous. I went for a first visit with my two cats. I paid for their office visit, stool sample test and shots. Paid roughly around $300. The vet was nice and knowledgeable, she told me I would have to return within 3 or 4 weeks for their booster so I said ok and made an appt. I asked the girl how much I needed to pay for their boosters , I'm thinking about another 60 bucks. The young lady quoted me over $200. Are you kidding me GTFOH. I asked why so much , she tells me I have to pay for an office visit again for the Vet to check them again. For WHAT!? Nothing has changed in two weeks all she needed to do is inject our booster and send us on our way. Straight Highway robbery!! I thought about it and decided to go somewhere else and cancelled the appt. right away! Avoid this establishment and their highway robbery prices. It's such a shame because I used to bring all my animals here. After this they have lost my buisness. Damn near $600 bucks in 3 weeks for shots. Yeah Right!

Ive been a returning client, along with my family & there pets, as well as have referred my friends to receive daily vet care here. They have treated my pets with the utmost care from regular checkups, to surgery & finally to their last days. Plus its affordable & easy to make an appointment. I lost both my senior dogs recently & they made the process so emotionally safe for my pets which is so necessary. The whole staff treats your pet like they are their own. I will always choose to come back here. Thank you so much

In response about Pickford, once again, the story isn't about grief it IS about the miscommunication and rude receptionists that led to her death. This place, as always, fails to acknowledge and be held accountable for ANYTHING. Instead, they blame their clients over admitting their mistake. As mentioned, I called asking to speak to the vet right away and the receptionist did nothing and no one called. I was told to get a phone call before. I KNOW WHAT I HEARD. Do NOT respond blaming the client. Face accountability that due to the poor communication between reception and the vets, this led to the loss of my cat. No one, even thought to connect her hyperthyroidism, initial elevated heart rate would have also added the risk to the procedure. Stop blaming the clients. This place had taken thousands beyond thousands of dollars from me. For what? To KILL my cat. And have the audacity to blame the client. Horrible. Avoid this place at all costs. They just want your money and have no care for the pet. And will always blame the client. PICKFORD IS DEAD THANKS TO THIS PLACE. She will never see the light of day because of the lack of communication. Even if her time was limited, the way you did this was beyond horrific and a tragic nightmare that no pet should experience. I am stuck paying this off for months, which is an ongoing reminder that I spent money for this place to kill my precious cat. Stop blaming the clients. I've held my tongue long enough from the rude reception services, extensive wait times, the works. I will not stop defending my cat's life and always speak the truth.

Been coming here since my childhood pet was brought home in the 90s. Always honest, compassionate, and caring towards you and your pet. We just had to put our very old cat down, after 20 + years. And what a beautiful, heartfelt, and emotional experience it was. The staff were so supportive and they brought us into a special room with a beautiful painted window of clouds, fake flowers, art on the walls that really felt like more thought was given to such a hard experience. I have appreciated them through all of the years and all of the pets, but their ability to grow and become better Healthcare providers amazes me. Thank you so much to everyone, from the front desk, to the techs, to the Dr's. Tiger's last moments were surrounded by so much love and I can't thank you enough.

My Netherland Dwarf bunny had been having watery stool for about a week and a half. Yesterday I tried calling a few veterinarian clinics to see if I could bring him in, but no luck. After being referred to Lefferts Animal Hospital, the receptionist stated that they could see me that same day! The only downside is that parking is HORRIBLE around this area but that’s not their fault. The people in the waiting room were friendly! And they made the time pass by quickly! Plus, I came in at 6:20 pm and was out of there by 7:20 pm! The receptionist was super friendly as well as Dr. Valdez! I love how he handled my bunny! After prescribing him antibiotics, he seems to be doing so much better after one day of use! 10/10 would definitely recommend!

Love love them! I recommend them to a lot of people, even some that don't live in Queens. I have been taking my pets here for more than 15 years. I love how they do not judge if you can't afford everything and they take their time with suggestions for care. I recently took my 4 year cat IceCream to get a dental and everyone was very nice and understanding that I was on a budget due to it being an emergency dental procedure. I work at a nonprofit vet clinic and still choose to use Lefferts for their needs!

I’ve always had a good experience with the vets here, their prices are reasonable and they all truly care so much and are affectionate and caring with the animals. I recently had my cat Yodel in for a very complicated dental surgery combined with a complicated spay and they still managed to stay close to the lower end of the estimate given. They’re very conscientious that people have budgets and bills and they never do anything unnecessary to get more cash out of you. Truly a great practice run by very kind hearted people who genuinely love animals.
