Brownie was ok for the price. Lacking a bit in richness and flavor. The crumb was much more like a dense cake rather than brownie.

My original review did not post or was erased. I am a trans woman. I have known Essel for years and supported his business. The other day I came in, which was the first time after I transitioned. I was asked if I had chopped my **** off, or if I was going to. Asked why I didn't like my **** Was told he had a trans male customer that wouldn't call he/him or his new name. Told me that he would also not respect my pronouns or my new name. That it was offensive for me to expect that. I refused service after this disgusting line of questioning and he cursed at me calling me a C slur and a liar, screaming at the top of his lungs, began chasing me out of the store. I had to run to my car to escape. A horrible experience. If you think I'm lying take a look at his reviews. If you are LGBTQ+ of any flavor be very careful entering this store.

Essel is a constant element of the heart of Rosendale for us, for many years, because of his baking and because of his spirit. We always leave his little bakery enriched and smiling.

Food was pretty good, cakes are awesome! It's sad they verbally go after you if they suspect you're different. Owner is openly and loudly transphobic, not a safe space for any LBGT folks.

As always, it is a pleasure stopping in and picking up treats and desserts at this terrific place. The owner is always accommodating and has just what we need, which is usually at the last minute. Thank you for being so awesome!!!

Essell made our wedding cake and it was amazingly yummy. Everyone complemented the cake. His lemons cakes are amazing too. I moved from east coast to west coast and have not been able to find lemon cakes like his. He is great at what he does.

Hats off to master baker Essell for a very delicious chocolate cake my wife ordered for my milestone birthday celebration this February. He also gave us helpful carving instructions for this large round layer cake. None of the usual demurrals from my family about taking home extra slices after the party. We also enjoy especially his fresh bread, teacakes, and addictive shortbread cookie bites.

Delish!!! Fresh!!! Essell (the owner and chef) provided us with a one of a kind Rosendale experience. He was exceptionally kind and thoughtful. We got a loaf of bread, a blueberry muffin, and a goat cheese house special on a mini focaccia. Fairly priced and yummy healthy treats. Essell is a culinary institute of America graduate and extremely outgoing.

Ordered a tea and a brownie here. The brownie was pretty good and there were some other nice-looking bread items for sale. But overall the selection was pretty slim and the place overall looked to be in disarray and not cleaned in a while. I love to support local bakeries but unfortunately this place is not living up to its potential. I think if someone could run the counter and the customer area it would let the owner focus on the baking passion.

We came in not for baked goods but for drinks as we were thirsty on our walk into town. Quick interaction but the baker was more than friendly; He welcomed us to sit even though we didn't purchase food. We appreciated the good vibes and it made us want to come back to the quaint little town of Rosedale soon.
