Nothing fancy but the staff are nice and the selection is solid. They have a relatively good amount of organic stuff and milk/dairy alternatives as well.

The West Asheville Ingles is not big enough, I think it should become a Liedl or Aldi. Maybe some affordable housing could be built there instead of a dirty, run-down, tiny little grocery store.

Why was this ingles so depressing. Unorganized. Cluttered. Small parking lot. Dim lighting. Poor hygiene.

Nice local smaller ingles. It is older in an older part of town. Unlike some of the over the top bad reviews I've never had a bad experience there and I'm there 4 to 5 days a week for my job. As with most grocery stores I visit I have had a product ring up the incorrect price before. Ingles has large signs letting you know if a product rings up incorrectly they will let you have that (1) item for free, other chains just give me the difference. As far as management trying to curb stealing...thank you! It helps keep costs down. I've used the bathrooms and I wouldn't eat off the floor or anything but definitely wouldn't keep me from using them. I'm my extremely frequent visits I haven't seen any more expired food than I do at any other store. It's RARE for me.

They need better people to serve the customers and be attentive to what they're telling them but other than that they were okay

Always friendly whether Ive been helped by a cashier 100 times or 1 time. Iris is awesome. She dances and sings and John is super friendly. Liam is pretty new so still reserved and shy.

Got accused of “concealing merchandise” for leaving my basket in the hallway outside of the restroom. There were no signs saying to not take it in there, and the (I’m assuming) manager burst in the restroom while I was using it asking if it was mine. She then proceeded to take my basket out of the hallway and waited for me to be done washing my hands so she could sternly tell me what I did was considered concealment. I told her im obviously not stealing, I don’t even have pockets and carry a see through purse. She retorted that she’s “simply doing her job” then sarcastically told me to have a good night and walked away. I have been shopping at this ingles for years and have always left my basket there while im using the restroom. Way to treat a regular customer! Bathroom was also extremely dirty and always is. Literal blood on the toilet seat. Dirty, dimly lit, expired food everywhere, constantly out of things, a security guard was walking around with no mask on loudly coughing, and now to top it off rude management. I’ll shop elsewhere from now on.

My young granddaughters, their dog and I walked up to Ingles to pick up a couple of things for a new recipe. The girls did not want to wait outside, and we couldn't take the dog inside. An employee (store manager, we think) was standing outside, and I shared with him the dilemma. He immediately and kindly offered to keep the dog safe outside, while the girls and I went into the store for a very brief time. I just wanted to say 'thank you' publicly and share the story and the good news that there are still kind and thoughtful people in our midst!
