My son and I have only freshwater fished. Every vacation to obx we watch people surf fish and say we need to try that. After years of waiting we finally did it. We were confused at first about how to get started and that's when I decided to call Bob's to see if we could come in and talk to them. Stopped in and showed them our pole/reel setup and explained our situation. They loaded our reel with line, got us the right tackle and explained everything to us about local fishing. They were very patient, friendly and treated us great even though they knew this was our first time and we were not from the area. We ended up catching many fish that week and had a blast. Memories were made that will last a lifetime. Thanks for the excellent customer service.

Bob's is a must stop every visit my husband and I make. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. Good prices on bait and equipment. I purchased a setup from there I use all time now and they are willing to look at reels to how to help you fix them.

So I’m not one to fill out reviews but gather round kids I have a story to tell. So I’ve been going to Bobs for a few years now and every time I’ve had a good experience but today boys and girls was exceptional. I’m staying in Corolla, I woke up early ready to fish after a historic horrible week of weather in May. I ran out and popped my line twice with no more gear with me. I have to decide which tackle shop to hit. Everyone knows the fish bite early so time is critical. The shop by the Harris Teeter was closest but didn’t open till 8am and I’m 30mins round trip from Duck. Anyway, I reviewed the shop close to Harris Teeters and they had horrible listings about an old lady who was rude, so that was out. I arrive at Bob to be greeted by an older guy who is exactly what you’d expect, beard and all but boy was he funny and nice. The guy knew his stuff and while he was setting up my new line the owner walks in. He admired my Stratic reel I had, and I let him know I’d purchased it there, at Bobs. Well he decide that my new line is on the house. He gave me 40 pound braided test line, bright green. Now I’ve never ran into anyone bad at the shops down in OBX but as a 30+ year old black man, walking in to a shop and being treated like that was an extremely nice way to start my day after the horrible fishing. He even was nice enough to take time to teach me about tying a snelled knot. I will always shop at Bobs for the rest of my life. Thank you fellas for your kindness and wealth of knowledge. It’s early in the day so hopefully I bring home some dinner.

Rented a rod for the week and I’m glad I chose Bob’s. They not only have good prices and good equipment but also are very helpful and give great advise to make sure you have the best experience fishing in Duck.

Duck in and get your worm wet! Great place to get fishing gear and advice. While I was there Mark fielded questions on dry ice(not for airplanes), surf fishing(don’t offer the female cop fishing in a bikini a hit from your joint) and successfully found a fishing boat to replace one with mechanical issues. Whew! The prices are great and the atmosphere very coastal. You can bet your Bloodworm on it.
