If you can get your prescriptions anywhere else—do it. This place is slow to process your medication (2+ days after they receive it), and excruciatingly slow to pick up in person. Expect to wait in a line for 20-40 minutes. This is based on picking up meds here for three years until I learned I could go somewhere else! Oh, and I don’t think I’ve ever gotten a phone call picked up—it just goes to voicemail. Life is too short to go to this pharmacy.

Hands down the worst pharmacy in Portland. My partner and I came here for a couple years since it was right next to our house, and this pharmacy gave us nothing but problems. Here's just a few of the things we've experienced: - Consistently, agonizingly slow. Got a bacterial infection? Get ready to wait two days to pick up your antibiotics. - Distributed wrong dosage of medications. Left with a bottle that said 2mg only to find out it was filled with 1mg pills. - Terrible communication. They hardly ever answer the phone, their voice mailbox is full, and when they do finally answer the 8th time you call, they just sound worn out. Text message alerts don't seem to work either. I will say that some of the pharmacists are very kind in person and this isn't necessarily their fault. I get the impression they're woefully understaffed and serving a huge population, but do yourself a favor and pick somewhere else to get your meds.

Understaffed and extremely slow. I tried to pick up a prescription that had been called in 3 days prior and it wasn’t ready. Without a refill number (which I didn’t have) I was unable to check the status over the automated phone system (stupid). The pharmacist advised me to come back at 4:40. When I returned (at exactly 4:40), it was still not ready. 35 minutes later I was finally able to get my prescription, and only because the 1 employee scheduled to work that day stayed 15 minutes after closing. Do better Safeway.

Do not come here. I called the pharmacy from 9 to 11 and was never answered. I called the manager NICK and he said he didn’t know what was going on. I drove in from multnomah only to be told that they hadn’t filled my prescription but would get started immediately. I waited another 25 minutes. When I returned I found Regena on her personal cell phone. Followed by My lfy, the pharmacist telling me it was too soon to fill. I devoted from 9 am to 12pm trying to get these people on the phone so I could find out the status of my prescription only to be told it wouldn’t be filled for a few more days. Why didn’t you just answer the phone like a normal pharmacy and say that from the get go? Because of bad service. I’m following this up with Safeway pharmacy’s corporate. I’m flabbergasted at these people.

If zero stars was an option that is what I would give them. Worst pharmacy ever! There’s a problem nearly every pickup. The people who work here DO NOT CARE about your experience. This pharmacy is very close to my house so I was slow to change pharmacies. I finally switched pharmacy’s and I’m a million times happier with my RiteAid Pharmacy.

This has to be the worst pharmacy in existence. I literally can't get ahold of anyone by phone, they aren't accepting voicemails, and they never seem to pick up. I don't get notifications when my doctor sends a new prescriptions, there's almost always a line, and no matter how long ago you requested your prescriptions, whenever you visit, they always seem to need more time. I would go anywhere else if there was anywhere within walking distance that I could get prescriptions from.

Since Safeway expects the pharmacist to give COVID vaccines AND fill prescriptions this place has turned into a nightmare. A prescription submitted 7 days ago is still not ready. I’ve been here 3 times to pick it up. It’s a very common medication, now I’m told to wait “at least 30 minutes “, she may have it ready.

I had a very unfriendly experience here on Wednesday 1/22/20 at around 3pm and would not recommend it to anyone. I was already exhausted and running a fever and needed this medicine. I was very patient and nicely asked the lady that was “helping” me if they carried this medicine as I had been to 2 other pharmacies already. She responded with an attitude “We don’t even have that medicine! Everyone is sick. I just had 3 people come here to grab that, you’re not the only one that’s sick!” I don’t understand how Safeway thinks this customer service is acceptable. You’re better off going to Walgreens or Fred Meyer.

The people are nice. The wait is ridiculous! Every time I go, I wait at least 20 minutes to pick up a medication that’s already been filled. They seem understaffed, but there are 3 people normally on. Idk

I would give negative stars if I could. I don't even know how this can even be considered a pharmacy, as they only fill prescriptions when bullied into it over multiple return visits, don't stock any medications, don't answer their phone or check voicemail, don't honor refill scheduling and never proactively resolve issues or call you back. I have never completed a transaction in a single visit - NOT ONCE. Every time I've gone in, I've had to escalate to a manager, clarify what I need and obtain a promise to fill the request, which is then ALWAYS broken. One lifesaving med refill took FIVE VISITS over four days to fill. The final straw was calling in a refill by number and being told it would be ready by noon. Went in the next day, they didn't even have a record of the request. Then they said they had to order it, but it was in a delivery bin and could i come back later that day. Then it turned out that it hadn't been ordered at all and it would be a day, maybe 2. I CALLED IT IN EARLY FOR A REASON. Absolute malpractice. This place should be shut down. Safeway, you have lost my business for good. This is not the employees' fault - Safeway just runs a horrible, understaffed operation and deserves to lose all their customers.
