Wolves in Sheep’s Clothing I contemplated over the course of 101 days better ways of expressing my dismay with Criswell Auto of Gaithersburg, MD. I would rather speak to members of the company than present my personal issues with this automotive distributor on a public forum. However, with the lack of communication and false narratives from members of Criswell Auto I had no choice. Hopefully, this review will strike their attention. Additionally, I do not want other potential buyers to fall victim to the same unfortunate series of events. Initially, the vehicle process leading to the purchase of my vehicle went beyond my expectations. Knox Masiyakurima (the pre-owned sales representative) answered all questions that I proposed in an attempt to help me understand Criswell Auto’s purchasing process and my responsibilities. After signing the appropriate paperwork Knox informed me that I would receive all forms needed to register my pre-owned vehicle through the United Postal Service to my home address. When I did not receive said paperwork after approximately 35 days, I attempted to contact Knox to ensure that there were no issues on my behalf. Knox ignored my phone calls and text messages for several days. After, no response from Knox (my original sales representative that I understand now only viewed me as an “easy sale”) I contacted Donna Baker who I assumed represented the Titling Department of Criswell Auto. Mrs. Baker informed me that she did not know the exact timeframe in which I would receive the paperwork to complete my registration but issued an extension (which I truly appreciated). I waited patiently until the expiration date for my extension approached. Again, I attempted to contact Mrs. Baker via landline and e-Mail but received no answer from either platform. Figuring that my calls and e-Mails were futile, I called the dealership’s primary landline and inquired about Donna Baker as well as the status of the documents needed for my registration. A Criswell representative informed me that Donna Baker no longer worked for the company and did not complete my request. The Criswell representative informed Angela Davis (I assume is Donna Baker’s replacement) of my issue. Mrs. Davis stated that the documents were initially rejected due to an error on their behalf. Mrs. Davis stated that she would resubmit the appropriate paperwork and that I would receive said paperwork in a few days through the USPS Overnight process. I never received tracking information and waited an additional three weeks. Again, I call Criswell Gaithersburg with no answer and leave a voicemail in hopes of receiving a return call. Later that week I received an e-Mail stating that the dealership completed all appropriate paperwork and that documents would arrive within a few days. Once the documents arrived, I assumed that I received the items needed to complete my vehicle’s registration. Yet, this was not the case. The documents sent my Criswell Gaithersburg belonged to another patron and included personal information. Even more interesting was that this patron’s registration documents were missing key information needed to complete their vehicle registration! I am at my wit’s end. The next step for me, in the attempt to complete my vehicle registration, is legal representation. Potentially suspending or revoking their dealership license. Sent from Mail for Windows

I went to have a couple of key fobs ordered. The place is huge, so I had to find the correct service desk. Everyone I interacted with was friendly. The two service bays I saw were immaculate. I would not hesitate to have them service my car if needed.

went in to buy a z06 corvette, told me they need to run a credit check to let me test drive it then while filling out the form they say i cant drive it because it doesnt have inspection. ok, so i ask to take a different one thats been inspected as its literally the same car and i know its been sitting on the lot as ive had the car on a watchlist for 2 months, they tell me no come back another day…these people are a joke.

They stole my personalized license plate holder and replaced it with one that said "Criswell Nissan" on it. I called to complain about the stolen property and they said it's standard procedure set by the owner to replace "competitor's" license plate holders with one of their own logo. This wasn't a competitor's license plate holder, it was personalized from my alma mater. How can theft of property be standard procedure?

If you need any servicing or body work done, go to Matt - personable, helpful, and very reasonable.

I had such a great experience getting my Wrangler taken care of here. I knew it needed some servicing done based on the mileage, but I wasn't sure exactly what. Greg took me through all the servicing that should be done at various intervals and helped me go through my previous service records to know what I was due for. They did all the servicing at a reasonable price, and to top it off, they gave my car a full complimentary clean - inside and out! I had been wanting to get my car detailed because it was covered in dog hair, but they did it for me free of charge saving me at least a couple hundred dollars. Seriously - this place was wonderful. Greg was great, and I couldn't recommend him or this auto shop more highly.

I recently brought my jeep in for a service estimate. I was not informed that I would be charged over $200 just to diagnose my problem. No one followed up with me and after several days I had to call to find out what was going on with my car. I was never provided a written estimate. I was just given a verbal quote by some rude service person over the phone. I had also requested a trade-in value when I dropped off the car but was told that someone would have to call me back. When they did, the trade in quote was so ridiculously low that I laughed out loud at the person. I would have preferred they had said they were not interested in a trade in than offering me the idiotic quote they offered. I assume they are aware that most people can use the internet and see a used car's value, right? I was considering buying a new jeep from them but after this performance there is no way I woud ever do business with this company ever again.

Worst used car buying experience ever! I felt like I was in the Twilight Zone. I recently received an email regarding a raffle for a Jeep, and the email triggered my memory of how horrible the experience was. I did a search for a Honda Accord coupe (manual stick shift), and Criswell had the only one in the region to be found. I live in DC, and knew I had to move quick to get the car. Because of COVID, I was asked to complete some paperwork online, no problem. The next business day, I drove out to Gaithersburg to test drive the car, and it was exactly what I wanted. Although, the salesperson helping me was not in, she left word with another salesperson I would be coming out to test drive the car. I told him to tell her I wanted to proceed with getting the car. I wanted to leave a down payment, but that's not procedure, according to the manager. She called me, and told me my car loan application was approved, and I could come and get the car. We agreed on a time. I caught the Metro, and a cab to the dealership anticipating my new wheels. I was so excited, I was 2 hrs ahead of schedule. While in route, she called and said I had to hurry because someone else was looking at the car. When I got to the dealership, they were washing and cleaning up the car to give to someone else. It was the most humiliating thing to happen to me. I was embarrassed everyone saw me breakdown and cry. On a positive note, I'll say the saleswoman and her manager were very nice, and polite explaining the unfortunate incident. Criswell, please remove my email address from your mailing list.
