This is the 2nd time this month where I encountered a cashier that was not helpful. 1st incident, I got in a line, placed my groceries on the belt, waited for customer in front to cash out, only to see that cashier go somewhere without saying a word. After a few minutes I went to another register. 2nd incident after ringing me up the cashier left, came back with paper and cleaner and proceeded to clean the belt. Usually I'll help bag if cashier is alone and I have a lot of groceries but the way she just left I decided to wait. After a not so friendly look she gave me the bags. What happened to the hi's , the friendliness and helpfulness?? It wasn't that long ago it used to be a more pleasant experience. This is not to say that this store doesn't have some friendly and helpful people , they do. And I appreciate them more every time.

I’ve been going to this store for 15 years and never once have I felt the need to complain even tho there has been numerous incidents that deserved a complaint, was never was bothered enough to take the time to right one until today . It was 9pm, S&S is open for another 2 hours . But…. Self checkout was closed ,1 register open. So I walk down there to become the 9th person in line. I leave my carriage and actually walk up stairs and find no one . I then return to my carriage to be the 6th person inline and now a total of 17 people in this line, and now this is when the cashier decides she has a problem, and goes and knocks on the cash drop box . Where someone comes out and instead of this person showing some speedy attention to the situation , would rather waist more time talking about the length of the line and what she/he was doing instead of helping clear what is now a 20+ person line . Waisted my time , made me late aswell, and I cannot justify why this was allowed . I’d be fired for less . Someone needs to do their job or find someone that will.

Stop and Shop .. can't find anything, Cat Food is out along with other stuff. They do not keep there stock up, do not like opening more than registers no matter how long the lines are. Poorly managed. Every time I go there they are out of stock or just not sticking up on stuff, about ready to run out of stuff. Don't see how they stay open. VERY Poor Management.

I updated my review because the store has updated the aisles. The best thing about the store is customer service. However, the worst thing about the store is the self check area. When you buy a large item you can be guaranteed that you're going to need an associates help because the area is not large enough to put the item down yet the computer register insists that you do so before you can scan another item. Thank God they have such fabulous customer service because obviously the person who designed the self check area has never stepped foot in a market. Unfortunately it still has not changed as far as the self check area. Shaw's market has been smart enough to add hand scanners at the self check so I guess I will be going there for convenience. Nothing good to add because they still have not added handscanners his hand scanners to the self check outs.

Haven't been shopping there lately. Seems they only in competition with Shaw's. Widening their aisles as so the consumer does not see that they have nothing in stock. Sometimes they take cash sometimes they don't blah blah blah. My main concern is putting out dated meats on clearance or managers specials. I don't recommend buying the brown meat. Also, I had bought a pound of Land O'Lakes cheese for $7.93. when I got home I noticed more than one label. As I peeled the first label off the sell-by date was different from the first label and the price was $6 and something cents. I proceeded to peel that label and the cell by date went back even more as well as the price to $5.47. not only were there numerous labels but the dates were changed as well as the product. I've never been one to buy Land O'Lakes cheese product. I only buy Land o lakes cheese. And at the last label it turns out I was not buying cheese I was buying cheese product. Wondering if it's a game they're playing to sell perishables that no one has bought by the sell date? I think the three labels says it all. Because it was funny that all the weights/lbs on each pulled label were exact. They knew what they were doing. Needless to say I did not pay the $7.93, I did not pay the $6 something I did pay $5.47 but for a fresh pound of Land O'Lakes. Guess you could call it HUSH cheese. SMH

Original Review: (Outrageously overpriced, just like every Stop & Shop.) Updated Review: Never again. Would have liked to have gone to one of the regular checkout line but there was only two lines open and they were both backed up about 12 customers deep. Self checkout is a joke. "please return item to the bagging area, please return item to the bagging area, please return item to the bagging area, an associate is on their way to assist you." Associate nowhere to be found.... Turns out she was chatting with the cashier down at the other end of the store. When she finally does arrive no hello, no how can I help you. All I get is an extreme attitude from her because apparently she didn't feel like doing her job. She unlocks the self-checkout and head back down to the other end of the store to continue chatting with her pal. I scanned two more items and then guess what!?! "please return item to the bagging area, please return item to the bagging area, an associate is on their way to assist you." Waited around about 5 minutes for an associate to show up....... that obviously wasn't happening. So I moved all my groceries to another self checkout. First two items scanned fine and then...... You Guessed It!!! please return item to the bagging area, please return item to the bagging area, please return item to the bagging area, an associate is on their way to assist you." Left everything right at the self-checkout and walked out of the building, for the last time. It's bad enough things were overpriced to begin with, but now with inflation up 30% it's beyond outrageous. Oh and now with the addition of super rude employees and faulty equipment I can say it pretty much completes the Stop & Shop experience. You have officially lost a lifelong customer. You should be proud. On the upside.... I ended up taking a drive to Shaw's right down the street and Wow! It was the supermarket equivalent of Nirvana! Prices $2, $3 even $4 cheaper on the same items they have at Stop & Shop! Amazing! Checkout lines were fully manned and they even had people bagging groceries at the end of the line! Remember that! People that would be at the end of the grocery line bagging your groceries for you! Incredible! I haven't seen that at Stop & Shop in years. Not to mention all the employees there we're super friendly and polite. Says a lot about the management at Stop & Shop when your supermarket can be in absolute disarray in every way and only a few miles down the road another Supermarket is knocking it out of the park! Goodbye forever Stop & Shop. Hope you get your s@%# together. In the meantime, Shaw's, here I come baby!

They were helpful. When I got there I realized I didn't have a mask. I asked an employee in the lot of they had one because I didn't want to look like a jerk. He said they might be out so I asked at the desk and they were happy to help. Cashier was nice too.

Clean, recently updated, very nice inside. A little crowded, but all the shelves were well-stocked. Very easy to find what you needed. Plenty of parking. Self-service lottery machine, Coinstar, and a Citizens Bank inside.
