Absolutely wonderful. We had a dog get scratched in the eye by a cat and it was serious. They saw him right away, made sure he was comfortable, provided excellent care and easy to follow care instructions for after he came home. They have an ophthalmologist team on sight for emergencies like this one, and within 4 hours he was back home with us and happy.

I wish I did not have to post a negative review, but I want to warn others. I waited months to get my pup into a Neurologist, and when the appointment came- I was seen by an internal medicine resident. I realize it is a teaching hospital, however, I should of been told this before I wasted my money and time with a resident who was clearly not knowledgeable to deal with a very difficult chronic case of seizures. The 4th year med student who did the intake was much better than the resident. The resident was not only ill prepared, but lacked all bedside manner and empathy. I know this is normally a great place to bring your pets, and I unfortunately was unlucky this time. But, I am extremely disappointed, as I sit here and watch my baby continue to seize.

Excellent care and service provided by Soft Tissue Surgical Team. Thank you to Dr. Anglin and Kate Stanford for their communication regarding our dog. They seemed to take a personal interest in him and his care and outcome. We highly recommend!

I cannot say enough about this place. This review is about the day clinic. We have a St Bernard and she had an infection in her toe for four months, that just would not clear up, and then spread to two other toes. We saw three different vets, including one vet specialist as well as a consultation with an internal medicine specialist. We had an x-ray and a biopsy along with 5 different rounds of different antibiotics for a diagnosis of a bacterial infection. Then she developed and eye infection, more medication, antibiotic drops, steroid injections and it just got worse. They then put her on an antibiotic so strong that we had to get her kidney function tested every week. The eye became so bad we went to a specialist ophthalmologist who told us that on top of everything else she had primary glaucoma which had caused her to go blind in the one eye and that she would go blind in the other eye in the next few months as this is a genetic condition, not linked to her other symptoms. After two weeks of antibiotics that equate to chemo therapy and not much change, in desperation we Googled and came across UT Collage of Veterinary Medicine and went to get a second opinion. UTCVM threw all their expertise into this, they were convinced from the outset that there had to be something else and they were determined to find it. We live two hours away so they moved things around and managed to get 4 specialists to see her all from different disciplines and when we arrived back at 4 pm they had a big smile and told us they found it, even showed us a picture of the pathology. She has a fungal infection, not a bacterial, so all the treatments to this point were doing nothing. Even better news, she does not have primary glaucoma, she went blind in one eye when the fungal infection spread to her eye. If we treat the infection the other eye would be fine, we would not have a blind dog. You can’t believe the gift that UTCVM gave us and we will always be indebted to them. It has been a week, the infection is just about gone already and she is seeing perfectly from one good eye. Thank you Dr. Blank and soon to be Dr. Keegan (as well as the experts we did not meet) for all you did for us, you truly changed out lives. By the way the fee was no more than we are paying at our primary vet, and worth every penny. These are true diagnostic veterinarians, who keep digging until they find answers.

UT vet is very caring when it comes to our pets but Bridgett that works at the front desk is rude and makes you feel like your pet doesn't matter. I really hope they don't let her help with people's pets.

UTCVM-University of Tennessee College of Veterinary Medicine is by far one of the best in the country. Dr Dottie Williams is incredible and goes above and beyond what would be expected of her. Our pup is still in a healing process, and we are still working on making him feel better. But she has never given up on him, even when they haven't had the answers, she continues to search for the answers and fight for him. She really truly does care about our boy. She takes time to listen AND explain everything, to her best ability. She tries to ensure that we understand. We were so lucky to have had her as our surgeon (neurology), and we are so lucky to currently have her continue to care for pollock. The front desk team here, however, may leave a lot to desire in regards to attention to detail and expressing the "we care" factor.... But Dr Williams definitely makes up for this! We would HIGHLY recommend her to anyone who is dealing with dog back/spinal pain, brain issues or for any neurological issues.
