I've gotten a decent amount of things from here, and I can't say that I've been disappointed. While they don't have the best selection for wrestling items, they have a very helpful staff to make up for it.

I bought a $100 pair of shoes for work in here last Saturday and I really shouldn't have. The service was terrible. If I spent $1, it shouldn't matter. I'm a customer...and it was tax-free weekend. Only 1 associate even greeted me and asked if I needed help with anything. I wish I had gotten his name. At least 2 others saw me and COMPLETELY ignored me, but went to assist other customers. I finally had to go get someone to help and she was less than enthusiastic. Academy is grossly overpriced, anyway. I won't do any more business with them.

Awful selection for kids' knee/elbow pads for skateboarding. Spent 30 minutes trying to find something that would work. Only found a helmet, and when we went to check out, only 2 lanes were open, each 8-10 deep with people. We just left empty-handed rather than deal with all that.

Better than I thought it would be. I just needed some kerosene for my heater during off season when it's really hard to find. Not only did they have it, they seemed to have every freakin' thing imaginable for any sport or sportsman, indoor or outdoor. I mean, everything.

In the store, I've had no problems. But if you have a true need to call, you're probably screwed. Today, I tried to reach out to verify that my paperwork had cleared for a handgun purchase. The first time, I listened to the phone ring for 5 minutes and 15 seconds before giving up. The second time I tried to call an hour later, the phone rang for 2 minutes before it sounded like someone picked up the phone and hung it back up, just to quite the ringing. Today is not the first time I've tried to call them.

Stopped in to get a $50 gift card for a birthday present. I didn't get the woman's name who "assisted" my transaction. She was too busy looking at her phone and speaking with another employee. I like the products at Academy but the process of checking out is not so good. I think I will use the pick up instead

Looking for steel toed shoes had bought a pair there before better shoe than Wally World. You just have to look around 2 find a bargain. the prices are a little high,but they do have quality products & friendly staff easy check out
