If you bring in high end guitars or equipment expect to be low balled severely if it is not a gibson or martin. I would say 70 percent of their inventory is on consignment. The staff is super unfriendly does not truly care what you are interested in. I actually have been super disappointed in both of my visits to Carter. It isn't the instruments its the employees. When they offer to consign a 5k guitar for 1800 dollars when they have a similar instrument (same brand and model with less appointments) on their stock floor for nearly 4000 dollars walk away.....quickly.

I walked in dressed nicely and with high regard, respect and care for vintage guitars and instruments. I own a 1943 Martin 00-17 and a 1955 Martin 000-21 myself. I was called “bud” very dismissively over 15 times by one of the shop staff and told not to sing because the owner does not like it. There were 3 customers in the shop and I was in a room by myself playing a 67’ Epiphone Texan. I had heard rumors that Carter Vintage had sold out to a large conglomerate. Pancho and the gang at Carter Vintage are the best. I just received a 1951 Epiphone Zephyr Empoeror Regent yesterday. I called for an in hand inspection and Pancho answered all of my questions and described the guitar accurately and honestly. A few days later it arrived here in Michigan well packed and safe. I even got a tee shirt out of the deal!!! A great guitar from a great company. I can’t wait to get to Nashville to thank them personally!

Awesome shop. We visited a few famous Nashville guitar stores during our day in town, and Carter was my favorite. Justin was very helpful. Stop in if you get a chance, its as good as any guitar dtore I’ve been to, anywhere.

Had an awful experience with the repair shop. Dropped my acoustic off for a simple repair and was quoted a week to fix. Five weeks went by and I never heard from them. I called to check the status and they said they had not even touched it yet. They sat it in the back and forgot about it. They didn't offer any remedy, just told me to come pick it up. Never fixed it. Never going back.

JUST WOW! Never seen that many high end guitars in one spot! Lisa of Gibson's! Easy to find, staff was cool, plenty of parking. If you play guitar you should stop by.

Wow! I was speechless walking into the main showroom. Beautiful selection of legendary vintage guitar models as well as many unusual finds, like a Hofner violin guitar and an oak-bodied nylon string. They also have vintage and high end amps, and double basses. The staff was friendly and helpful. Truly one of the coolest guitar stores in the country.

What a collection they have here. So much history in here, and every instrument you pick up could have so much history behind it. Every Gibson and Martin fan needs to come take a few hours to drool over some rare old guitars and gear. The sales staff here are super friendly, especially since I expressed I couldn't afford anything in the store they still insisted I play whatever I felt like. They made me feel at home, and I was grateful to play a few of these jewels. Thanks Carter's..I'll be back some day, and I bet I'll buy something!

Wow! I was speechless walking into the main showroom. Beautiful selection of legendary vintage guitar models as well as many unusual finds, like a Hofner violin guitar and an oak-bodied nylon string. They also have vintage and high end amps, and double basses. The staff was friendly and helpful. Truly one of the coolest guitar stores in the country.
