It’s 80+ degrees temperature in Virginia today, thought of buying lemonade from Giant, so bought one gallon bottle of Turkey Hill brand lemonade bottle for $2.56, distributed by Turkey Hill Dairy PA. This specific brand doesn’t taste like lemonade. I wish to have bought plain water than this lemonade, plain water would have been better purchase. I wish, Giant Food purchase team would have tasted this lemonade, prior to getting and placing for customers. Thanks.

Solely for the lack of customer service. I have literally never had a bad experience at a grocery store. Leaving a negative review always seems silly to me. Up until now. I mind my own business, buy my groceries, and leave. After checking out and heading for the exit, I noticed they had blocked the exit door. I requested to have the side door opened due to hurting my leg while in the grocery store (my own fault) and my car was parked very close to the entrance on that side. The two employees standing there looked at me like I was crazy and continued to stare very rudely and said that doors close at 9. If I would have at least gotten a genuine apology saying that it was no longer possible, or an attempt to even help. But none of that happened. Anyways, I managed to wobble out of the store. So it’s not the end of the world. But just very disappointing. Also incredibly inconvenient for anyone with a physical disability. Why would you shut your entrance doors 3 hours before closing anyways?? (Especially the main entrance)

Have you ever considered that “Giant Food” is a huge misnomer? The food sold here seems of normal size and the store itself is rather medium-sized based on current day standards. Kidding aside, this store is exactly what you would expect. It has a good selection of fruits and veggies, cold-cuts, fresh seafood, bakery, a large selection of alcoholic beverages and sodas and everything else that a typical store carries. It does also have a nice section with fresh flowers and plants. Last time I visited I somehow ended up with four more cacti. There is a self-checkout section with about six stations and in the middle of the store they usually have a section dedicated to whatever holiday is upcoming (fourth of July was the one I saw last) as well as a clearance section. One thing that has always caught my attention here is that the aisles seem very narrow, and everything seems crammed, except for the toiletries and “pharmaceutical” area. Perhaps it is just me. In summary: a neighborly place to get groceries.

Stopped in on Monday, 5/23 to pick up a few things since this store is very convenient to my house. I was absolutely disgusted by how dirty and unsanitary the produce section is. Every single rack and bin needs to be thoroughly cleaned and disinfected. With three competitor grocery stores within a 4 miles radius, this level of cleanliness is absolutely ridiculous. I attempted to stop at Customer Service counter to express my horror in-person, but was told "no one is available" to speak with me. The manager of this store should be horrified and ashamed that his store looks like this.

The Giant in South Riding is a good and clean store. You can get your day-day groceries done and the store has the products. It would be nice if there are a few more self-checkouts, but that doesn't slow you down. If you are looking for varieties in bread then you might not be able to get them here.

Giant can be hit or miss in their produce but I really appreciate them offering the wine cocktails in this size which is similar to Costco.
