I’ve been shopping at Chico’s Barracks Road for many years, since moving to Charlottesville from Connecticut. I also shop online, which is convenient, however lacks the personal experience and clothing expertise that Susan and Jane provide. I love chatting with this delightful duo; they are upbeat, dynamic, knowledgeable, and fun! The sales are frequent and generous. The styles and fit of their pants, in particular, seem personally designed for me. I wear a “00” in Chico's vernacular - the store typically has a liberal inventory in this size, if not, Susan or Jane don’t miss a beat offering to place a special order, which includes free shipping, directly to my home. I appreciate their warmth, genuine enthusiasm and support, plus dog-friendly store policy, which I’ve yet to avail myself of ... very soon, though, I plan to take my American Eskimo Dog, Lily, for a visit. Who knows ... they might have something in her size, too! Thank you, Ladies.

Like a scene out of Pretty Woman where Julia Robert’s character entered a high end store, in street clothes and with plenty of money to spend, was immediately profiled by the staff and either ignored or talked down to and made to feel ashamed and embarrassed. This happened to my wife in the Charlottesville store this past Saturday, April 1st. My wife, who prior to her illness was a woman’s size 2-3, but is now about a 14 and is very sensitive about her size and weight. She shops at Chico’s both here in Charlottesville and when visiting her mom in the Woodlands out side Houston. She knows that if the store doesn’t have her size in an item it can be ordered. She knew the store would most likely need to order but she still planned on spending a good amount of money and also to take advantage of the good sales going on. While she was looking, where she WANTED to look, the sales person kept saying, “oh, you don’t want to look there, you want to look over here” pointing out the “larger” sizes. My wife said, “no, this is where I want to look”, where again 2-3 more times the sales person insisted that the other area is where “she needed to look”. My wife left hurt, embarrassed, ashamed and finally very angry. You people have a lot of never talking to someone like that, esp. in a town like this. I’ve been all over the world and have walked into to stores wearing an old t shirt and shorts and still got the same respect as the guy that came in with a $10,000 suit. You all should be ashamed of your selves.

I've visited this store on several occasions. Ive only been greeted a few times, and based on the fact that no one ever offerd to assist me, I won't be back. Seems that one needs a certain look. ... to get attention in that particular CHICO'S . Barracks Rd . In Charlottesville Va.
