I had my violin refurbished and a new bridge put on at WM Mason and they did an amazing job. Elyse was extremely helpful and explained everything in great detail as to what my violin needed. She was thorough in allowing me to try out different bows and chin rests to ensure I got exactly what I was looking for. WM Mason has a great selection of bows from beginner/student level all the way up to professional. They can meet the needs for any type of player. When I decide to upgrade to a nicer violin, WM Mason will be my go-to violin shop! They also make their own high-quality rosin in-house. Can’t recommend enough WM Mason for all your string needs!

My current violin teacher recommended that I get a new larger full-sized violin and I should reach out to William and Mason for a new violin. They were very nice and allowed me to try out various new violins in my price range and even allowed me to take one for a week to try out. After much consideration, I decided it would be more cost effective for me currently to just repair my current one rather than buy a new one (since we discovered I already had a full-sized violin) and the builders at William and Mason were all to gracious in helping me with this as well. The repairs on my current one are excellent and they were very nice and helpful in making sure my current violin met my standards, and those of my teacher, and I couldn't be happier. My old 40 year old violin is almost brand new and the sound is amazing!! They were very helpful and considerate in how they handled business and how they could help the customer get exactly what they wanted and needed. They were also very knowledgeable in what would work best for my current violin. Great experience and I will always recommend this shop to others looking for a local shop for any and all strings repairs and purchases, and I will be sure to go back if I need any additional services or needs. Enjoyed my stop today. I had a old violin, that's been in my family for a long time. In the end, the staff convinced me it would be a pretty steep cost to invest repairing it enough to sell. But, they agreed to taking it as a donation and maybe (hopefully) they'll get it back to service in someone else's home.

Took an instrument there to see about getting it fixed. The people were lovely but after 3 weeks of not hearing a word from them I went and got my instrument back. I cant attest to their work, maybe it’s top notch, but as far as the costumer service and advertising they will evaluate and repair your instruments I have justified doubts. Again nice people but as someone who was excited about getting an instrument fixed or at least an estimate I am very disappointed and unfortunately wouldn’t take things there to get fixed. That’s all fine, I understood it was a different instrument than you usually work with, but you asked me to send you information including the Erhu restoration kit on amazon which is all that was needed to repair it, which I did that day. Then 3 weeks goes by without hearing from anyone, not even an email reply. Just raises suspicions. Just say you have no interest and don’t waste my time, or keep your customers informed. I don’t think that’s to much to ask and that’s why I left you a negative review. If you would have communicated at all I would have left a positive review. Unfortunately it seems like you don’t care about your customers or maybe you were hoping I’d not show back up and you could keep it. Again I can’t say because i have no idea what you guys do besides not fixing instruments or calling customers.

Stopped in to see about a cello for my nephew earlier this year (July 2015). We wound up getting a fantastic tour of the shop. If I lived in the area I would definitely look at an apprenticeship here. I found their knowledge of the instrument's history and construction to be both deep and broad. While my nephew wound up with a school rental, if he sticks with it we will be back to look for either an upgrade rental or purchase.
