I recently rented a truck from Penske on July 1, 2022. When I was checking out I spoke with the representative about a security deposit needing to be placed. They asked me for a $1,000 to hold for damages. Not everyone has to give that, but in my case for some reason they asked me for it. I promptly gave them the money. Since it was a cashier’s check, I was told by the representative at the counter that it would NOT be deposited, but just held until the truck was returned. My father was also there and heard him say the exact same thing. I rented from them for 3 weeks. I returned the truck in the same condition it was given to me. No damages. I went to return the truck on July 22, 2022, and the same representative told me that my check was deposited and it would take 12-15 business days to get it back. I called again on August 1, 2022, and now the status has changed and they are now saying it takes 25 - 30 business days to get my security deposit back. I think this company is a complete scam, and they hold customer’s money to gain interest before returning and sometimes don’t return the security deposit at all. I advise you DO NOT rent from them. However, I won’t allow them to continue to do this to innocent customers as I see others have not received their security deposit. I have a few agencies I have reported this to. I urge if this is happening to anyone, that there are agencies that will launch an investigation for suspected fraudulent activity.

They have trucks. Lots of them. Jeremy has been the go to guy here for years. He'll take good care of you. 10-14-21 - Our company's trucks have been in the shop for a while now. I've had to rent from Penske for our business. After receiving the receipts my jaw dropped to the floor. For example today I rented a small cargo van. It was a transit 250. I had it for just over 3 hours and put 53 miles on it. They wanted to charge me a full day which the total came out to $298.00. I said something about the insane charge so they pulled it down to 3 hours even and the total came out to $249.99. This is a receipt for a 26' box truck. 1 Week $2,000.00 $2,000.00 Mileage Out: 10,743 In: 11,589 846 Miles $0.3990 $337.55 Ldw $2,000 Responsibility 1 Week $350.00 $350.00 Liability Accident Insurance 1 Week $280.00 $280.00 environmental fee 1 Week @ $21.00 $21.00 Vehicle Licensing Recovery Fee 1 Week @ $24.50 $24.50 SUBTOTAL: $3,013.05. Ryder right up the street charges $109.00 per day and $.19 per mile for an Izuzu with a lift gate.. The insurance at Ryder is 30% cheaper as well. Only downside to Ryder is that their trucks only do 65 MPH and we're on the highway a lot as opposed to Penske 70 MPH governor. By switching to Ryder we are saving an insane amount. I asked the rental attendant about the charges and she said that's what it is. I asked Jeremy if we could have some sort of business rate but it is what it is. Ryder is the only option at this point moving forward.

I had given 5 star review to this company 1 year ago. They are back to their deception and dishonest policy. We were not told upfront on what we'll be paying for renting in July. At the time of reservation there was no mention that we no longer have the discount we used to have. They still operate as if we are in peak COVID-19 times and hand over the paperwork from behind their main door. Obviously only after we got billed to our credit card we realized we paid full charges. The account rep assigned to us gave us BS "that we have added many new fleets adding to the cost thus the discount is removed" - what? So Penske is not going to tell us that we lost our discount rates and on top of that we received a truck that was more than 10 years old and had more than 100+ miles on it. We paid almost 3 times in renting from them in July. No more faith in this company. Renters be fore warned on their deception practice and dishonesty.

Our leased truck was leaking radiator fluid and had deliveries scheduled for the same day. Went to Penske Manassas and was told the water pump was failing. I dreaded having to leave the truck for the weekend and reschedule deliverys for Monday. Instead, a new water pump was installed WHILE I WAITED! In a couple of hours I was back on the road doing deliveries. Thanks so much for exceeding my expectations and making my job easier! Thanks Penske Manassas for making my delivery dreams come true...

I never thought the experience at truck rental facility could be described as amazing, but here it is. I have helped dozens of families move and most are local so I had never been to Penske. From the time my client and I drove into the gate seeking direction to the office to the time we drove off, everyone was super helpful. Jeremy was serving us and he was very thorough in explaining all the costs and options. The truck my friend received was clean and modern. They hitched the trailer for the car on and a smooth and successful journey ensued.

After returning a rental truck, I filled it up with gas because I know they charge extra if you fill it up at the Penske pumps. I filled both tanks up at a gas station and yet the gas gauge meter was not topped off. I explained this to the Penske guy at the counter and he said they'll charge $8 a gallon for whatever is not filled up, I even explained that I had receipts from the gas station for the gas I just paid for, he still didn't care. Save yourself some hassle and go the Ryder Truck Rental right down the street, they have excellent service there. UPDATE: After returning the truck with the gas filled up completely, they charged me $250 for who knows what. Avoid this place.

I’ve rented from this location several times now. All the employees are helpful, quick and responsive to your needs. The process is easy and you are out the door in minutes. The facility is clean and tidy. Overall, from my prospective, this is a well run business.

I wouldn’t recommend this company for my worst enemy. I rented a truck from them on Monday and the sales rep offered me a 10% discount. When I returned the truck, same day, they charged me an additional $60 which was outrageous. What happened to my discount, idk? Also, They fooled me into thinking that I would get my $150 security deposit back but I didn’t because they took the majority of it. Please, if you value your money, don’t make the same mistake I did. Zero Stars from me!!!!

All I can say is Josh was great to deal with renting the truck and getting me a truck with a lift gate. After that it was down hill, truck wouldn't start when I got there had to deal with road side but ended up getting my own jump from one of the employees that was still there working on a car which he was nice as well. Left truck running well I loaded it and of course the truck wouldn't start again the next morning had to call road and have jumped, and again that night wouldn't start finally called and said tow it and just used my trailer to move the rest. Called that Monday morning and basically was told they couldn't do anything for me hmmmmm. Then had to educate some customer service to the gentlemen I spoke and said shouldn't you take my information and give to your boss so he can give to his? Well haven't heard anything from them probably won't but will make sure to not recommend Penske.
