I wanted to give a big shout out to Hughes Florist for the impeccable service that I received. I ordered an arrangement in the morning, and it was delivered that afternoon to its destination. The recipient texted me the pic and it was exactly what I ordered. Thank you Hughes Florist! I will definitely be using your services again.

Living in another state & unable to attend my brother-in-law’s funeral, We ordered a particular plant from a florist on a Saturday to be wired for the funeral being held on Tuesday. Hughes Florist got the order & it was not received by the family until Wednesday, & then it was a much smaller replacement plant!! When we called, the girl was extremely rude & refuted everything we said. Bad business!!

I placed a last minute Mother's Day order for a floral arrangement basket. It was delivered on time and beautiful! It was even nicer than the pictures. They are affordable, professional, and the flowers are stunning! I highly recommend them!

Beautiful amazing work always comes out of Hughes florist! They have a small gift shop with various types of items from silk centerpieces to collectibles and high end glass and porcelain vases. Check them out! Or call and place your fresh flower delivery. You won't be disappointed!

They ruined my mood for Valentines day. First of all, parking is inexistant. Now the shop itself is pretty decent but items were a overpriced, maybe for Valentine’s day. I asked if they have military discount, they said NO, they only offer “Police officers discount” NOT Military discount. Never heard that one before but ok, their shop, their rules. Lastly, they did NOT include the card I chose and hand-wrote for my wife. I drove 30 minutes (twice) to buy flowers without a card. I wrote on the card and the lady took it from me and put it in a small envelope but never gave it back to me. I was so in rush I thought the card was in the bouquet. I went home before I noticed the card was missing. Flowers were beautiful, I will be honest but overall not the best experience I’ve had.

Hughes completely messed up the only spray flowers I had for a funeral. The owner knew it was her fault and never reached out to me. When I finally got her on the phone, she talked over me and was very rude. She refunded someone I don't even know and I had to get my money refunded through the bank. When she sent apology flowers, they had a couple roses and filler flowers. My spray was $175 so the 'apology flowers' felt more like a smack in the face. The whole experience was devastating and I hope no one treats her that way when her mother passes away. If they were birthday flowers, I wouldn't have been so upset, but all of this could have been avoided if she just picked up the phone!

If I could give no stars….The most ignorant and rude people here. They MISSED sending my mothers floral spray for her funeral that was personalized for her. They were not sorry, refunded the wrong person and send a cheap are arrangement as an “apology”. The apology arrangement was suggested from my friend who placed the original order. They were not going to do anything about it. Definitely avoid this place.

I WILL NEVER PLACE ANOTHER ORDER WITH HUGHES FLORIST I decided to use Hughes Florist for the first time today. It is my and my wife's 27th Wedding Anniversary.The order I placed at 8:30 AM was for one dozen purple roses to include a personal message for my wife. Imagine my surprise when I came home from work about 5:30 and there had been no delivery to my wife. I was charged the $90 for the order-which I believe to be very high for one dozen roses. My wife is very disappointed as she believes I forgot our anniversary. Of course, no one was at the business to return my call by 5:30. I WILL NEVER PLACE ANOTHER ORDER WITH HUGHES FLORIST

This is the best flower shop in Portsmouth or western branch area. Lisa is great! The ladies that work there are very friendly and helpful. Delivery is great just remember they are not open on Sunday.
