Excellent vet service, the nurses/ techs are great, very confident around the animals and reassuring when you are worried. We've had great experiences here and would highly recommend! They have given us advice over the phone before, which is so much better than stressing the animal out by taking them in, especially for rabbits and cats. We had our Labrador spayed here and the scar was barely visible after a week! Incredible surgery skills. Keep up the good work! Unlike other vet surgeries in this area, they aren't a money grab, they won't suggest procedures that aren't essential.

My little chipoo got in scuffle (still unsure how). His eye came out of socket, his ear was torn, had a rather large chest wound and several other wounds. Of course, it was after business hours. Hillside Animal Hospital was able to treat him within the hour. Staff was friendly and comforting and very thorough when explaining the procedure and possible outcomes. I had the same experience during his follow up appointment. On our 3rd visit, my little guy was comfortable entering the building, which says a lot considering his typical behavior. He's part Chihuahua, so he does not like to be away from me and he's fairly spoiled. Dr. Hewitt was comforting and empathic, yet was clear about the importance of aftercare and preparing me for the next steps, ensuring there won't be any unexpected outcomes or charges. The total cost was less than I anticipated, especially for emergency care. I realize that it subjective and you can't put a price on your pet's care, but I felt it was reasonable. I highly recommend Hillside Animal Hospital!

I called from Winona to discuss symptoms and ask for a recommendation between driving to La Crosse tonight versus waiting until morning to visit our local vet. This is my first pup and I have a lot of anxiety surrounding any symptoms given my inexperience. It ended up not being an emergency but Hillside was very reassuring, compassionate, and knowledgeable while I rambled my fears and worries. My husband immediately said I should right a review. It is well deserved. Given their kindness over the phone, I cannot imagine their kindness in person. ❤️ Thank you.

We were camping in the area and our dog took a turn with a health condition. We got in touch with Hillside and were fortunate they were able to see us. Dr. Konrad examined our dog and gave us a prognosis. Unfortunately, her condition was not reversible. Dr. Konrad and his staff were very compassionate and discussed all our options with us. It was a sad outcome, but the staff was so caring and helpful during this time that it gave us some comfort. Thank you again Dr. Konrad and Hillside staff. The Knight family

Selecting a quality animal care facility can be tough, especially in La Crosse. We made the mistake by selecting a previous animal care facility based off of price. Yes, you are going to pay more at Hillside. HOWEVER, you are going to get quality communication throughout your animal's care, reason why they are doing what they are doing, and getting YOUR input with the process. You will be surprised by the care and attention that Hillside will do for your animal and family. We take everyone in the house here... Just as long as they have 4-legs.

What a wonderful staff. We were visiting family in Winona, MN, and had our dog with us. She had a heart condition that took a sudden turn for the worse. She started to breath very rapidly and was lethargic, and we called Hillside Animal Hospital. They told us to come in as soon as possible. We had to make the heart-breaking decision to relieve her suffering. The doctor and his assistant were so kind and gentle with her, and the staff grieved with us. I expressed my wish to have her ashes, but they would not have been back to the hospital before we returned to NC. Tricia Bluske, a staff member, offered to send them to me, and I now have my little one back home. She kept in touch with me to make sure that I received the ashes. I am truly grateful to have had this team, when we were out of town, during such a devastating time. They were exceptional.

They were kind to work our dog in the same day I call about him having some neck issues. They did a good exam and listened to me talk about my concerns. They explained their thought and what to look for. They explained the medication they gave him and answered all my questions. I feel comfortable knowing what to look for and when to call them if he doesn't get better or has additional concerns. Thanks for taking such good care of our fur baby!

It was noon Saturday when we realized our Yorkie's lack of appetite, walking and vision was getting worse. After calling numerous vets including our regular vet and being turned away, we called Hillside Animal Hospital who invited us in after hours. They checked our Yorkie out, ran some tests, gave her the best of attention and care. Treated her with medication and sent home medicated eyedrops for her eyes, scheduled a follow up on her recovery for Monday morning. So pleased with your services. They are sincerely the best out of ALL the vets I have tried in the area. They truly care! They saved me LOTS of money. And out of 3 vets in our area found the problem right away and took AMAZING care of my baby boy Kingsley Zero!
