Our cat decided he wanted to swallow a three inch string from his toy on Labor Day weekend of all times. We called many other emergency vets in the area who either weren’t open or were at capacity. VCA was able to fit him in and although it took a long time (they were also extremely busy) it was worth the wait because they were able to remove the string without surgery and saved us from our cat suffering more or us paying way more to treat the problem. The staff were very nice about the situation and we would 10/10 visit again when we need emergency care for our little guy.

I can't begin to thank the amazing people who work here and care so much for animals. Unfortunately my cat was diagnosed with an advanced lymphoma which was unresponsive to treatment. Last night we put her peacefully to sleep with the assistance and support of the VCA. While she was in the hospital they updated me with phone calls and text messages and even sent me a picture of my sweet Rae girl. Thank you all so much again for caring and loving Rae during a difficult time. My whole family can't thank you all enough for what you did to make her feel comfortable and at peace.💛

So thankful this 24 hour clinic is so close to my home. I needed emergency x-rays for my puppy (all turned out okay, thank goodness!) and the entire experience, from my initial call to taking my dog home was about 2 hours. Bonus points, the receptionist was extremely kind and professional. I was in tears because I was so worried about my dog and she helped to calm me down. Great human support as well! Thanks team, and in the nicest way possible, I hope to not see you again soon lol 🙂

Excellent service and quality care. VCA was the only emergency vet clinic in the Madison area that would take my critically ill cat. Despite being very busy on a weekend, they were able to see him quickly and get the necessary diagnostic tests run. They gave knowledgable recommendations and kept my cat comfortable throughout the process. Unfortunately, my cat was diagnosed with lymphoma and I had to make the difficult decision to put him down. Dr. Sierra and the vet staff couldn’t have been more compassionate and caring throughout this whole experience. I’m very grateful for their service during that difficult time.

While you never want to be in a situation where you need to utilize their services, when our everyday vet (Chalet in Stoughton) recommended we take our little doggy Daisy to an emergency veterinary clinic on a weekend, we feel fortunate that we chose VCA. While after 4 day stay, Daisy didn't make it, we felt compelled to share how thankful we were for the whole staff there. They gave us meaningful updates, allowed us to visit her while she was staying there without making us feel weird, and generally were very compassionate when Daisy passed. They have a very difficult job and they managed the emotional side and financial side with amazing composure.

My experience with VCA while very short was great. I called due to my dog having very labored breathing. They told me they would add me to the waiting list and to bring her in asap. I did and Dr. Sierra looked her over. She talked over our options with us. While we unfortunately had to make a very sad decision regarding my dog (who was a 15-year-old golden retriever) The compassion and empathy that everyone had at the clinic let me know the decision was the right one, even if it was incredibly difficult. If I ever get another pet, I will definitely keep this place in mind when needing emergency vet care. Thank you VCA for making a hard time a little bit easier.

This clinic was fantastic. Unfortunately they discovered a tumor that was pushing on our dogs adrenaline glad. They were knowledgeable about all the options our family had, talked us through cost, survival rates, quality of life etc. Though our family decided to move forward with putting our 13 year old dog down, I couldn’t imagine a better experience. The love and compassion that our vet tech and vet showed was phenomenal. Very grateful.

Our Easter Sunday fun abruptly ended when our 5 month old puppy decided that she wanted to jump out the window of a moving car. We called VCA and informed them of the situation and they said to bring her in immediately. Once we got there, they took her back right away and we were put into a room. Dr. Majka was so amazing. She came in to the room after doing a quick check of our puppy and was so polite and caring. She has such a warm and welcoming personality that it helped myself and my boyfriend calm down and feel better about a horrible situation. Knowing that our pup was going to be in her hands made me feel great and I would recommend this place 10x over.

I recently took my cat in for excessive vomiting and behavior changes. They took him in and initially told my roommate that he'd be ready in about two hours. We were not allowed to see him during this time so went home and awaited a call. Four hours later having heard nothing we called them and were told the vet was with another patient and would call back in a few minutes. An hour and a half later, we still heard nothing so called back again. Another woman let us know that there were no updates, but that we could get him in about 8 hours. Mind you, the 8 hour wait time was for someone to look at his x-rays. I decided to go down there after getting off of work because I was extremely confused at the difference in timelines given to me, and also felt very in the dark about the well-being of my cat. Upon arriving, I was allowed to take him home after about 30 minutes (what happened to 8 hours???). I was told that he would either get better overnight or need to have emergency surgery. I was told to come back at 5am the next day for another set of x-rays and an ultrasound, and not allow my cat to eat anything. I arrived back at 5am with my cat and was immediately appalled at the help I received at the front desk. After giving them both my name and my cat's, they clarified, "You're here for stitches, right?" which I very much was not in for. I corrected them and mentioned both the x-ray and the ultrasound where I was told there was nobody there to do an ultrasound. Why was I told I needed an ultrasound when there is nobody there to do an ultrasound? Another worker upon seeing my cat went "oh! It's a kitty!" WHAT????? How is it that I am told by one staff member to return in the morning, and when I arrive the new staff have not even been told that the procedures I need are for a cat??? Throughout the entire experience, I was never explicitly told what was actually wrong with my cat. My overall experience was ridiculously stressful due to lack of basic communication between both the staff and myself, as well as between the staff members themselves. My cat is feeling better, and I do appreciate their work however I will not be returning and I would not recommend anyone else to visit them either.

My roommates and I recently adopted a kitty whom is now about 6 months old. A few days ago he began vomiting and refusing food and water. We called and asked if they would see us immediately, and they said they would. We brought our kitty in around 11:30 am and they told us it would be about 2 hours until they had any information for us. The lady at the front desk asked if we would be staying and waiting for him in a very rude manner (and as we are all college students and have other responsibilities) we said no and the lady told us she would call in 2 hours with more information. After 4 hours, we had heard nothing regarding the state of our kitten. We decided to call, and we were told that the vet was with another customer and that they would return our call in "a few minutes". About an hour and a half later, we still heard nothing. We called back asking AGAIN for more information. They finally helped us, and told us that it would be 6-8 hours until we could come get our sweet boy (if you're following the timeline here, that would be about 2 am). The information they gave us on the phone was not clear, so about an hour later, we went back to talk to them in person. When we arrived, they told us that we could take him home at that point (and yes of course we were glad to take him home, but what about the 6-8 hours we were supposed to wait?). We were supposed to come back at 5 am the next morning and get another x-ray and ultrasound. The next morning when we arrived, the person at the front desk was not very helpful. They did not recall telling us that we had to come in at 5 am, and on top of that, they asked if we were here to get him stitches....? We told them no, and explained the situation. They replied with "No one here can do an ultrasound." Why did they want us to come in to get him an ultrasound then?????? They told us to make sure he did not eat anything the night before so the x-rays could come back clear, but as they brought our kitty back for another x-ray, the lady said something along the lines of "I hope you didn't eat anything silly!" Of course we didn't let him eat! We were taking this situation very seriously, and it felt like the employees here were not. Our kitty is feeling better now, but the terrible communication and rude remarks of the workers was extremely frustrating. We will not be returning.
