I would like to express the unsatisfying and horrible experience that took place this afternoon. My mother is a usual customer here and is shopping here a few times a week. Today when she decided to return some items that she did not end up using, within her 9 day timeframe as it states on the receipt. A man (Carl) who claimed to be the manager treated her very awful. Was speaking down to her, insulating her, and he was extremely rude . My mom arrives home extremely upset and crying over the situation. I can’t believe you would hire people with this kind of demeanor and still give them a "manager" responsibility. Also there was two items that were not listed in the receipt as they were in a receipt she had left behind at home and he refused to give her the items back and accused her of taking them without paying (he kept the items)!!!

CHECK PRICING & RECEIPTS!!! I don't go to this location especially, as often anymore; I use to LOVE them but for a good while now they continue to have misleading/mislabelled pricing on some of their higher priced and name-brand items. (during the last year and a half or so) I noticed that I had purchased several items based off the labeled price only to find they rang up higher, once I'd gotten home and was checking my receipt. (Yes, I could check it at the store but try to be respectful of others time, and had good-faith in 99 Cents Only. Plus yall know lines can get backed up quick.) I gave the benefit of the doubt the first FEW times and did nothing. I decided the next time it happened, to go back to the store the next day and take a pic of the label then wait another day or few to see if it was just an oversight and if the prices had been fixed but no, same incorrect prices. I even went/go as far as double and sometimes triple checked/checking to make sure I'm not/ wasn't wrong. I go there first for savings and before going to Walmart, Fry's, Safeway or etc to get the rest of my groceries, 99 doesn't have. If I'm going to be charged the same or more as a big grocer then I would rather not waste a trip going to 2 stores and just do one-stop shopping at one of the big grocer's. Here are a few RECENT items I was overcharged for based off labeling: *Doritos - labeled $2.99 rang up $3.99 *Bertolli Olive Oil - labeled $2.99 rang up $4.99 *John Soules Grilled Chicken Brest strips - labeled $6.99 rang up $8.99 *Golden Fresh Farms Peaches - hand wrote labeled $1.99 rang up $3.99 Saturday was the last straw, so I called and spoke to a manager but didn't go back this time for the corrections. (It was to HOT) I just think about all the people who HAVE to budget EVERYTHING just to make it, need every cent to count, and are getting overcharged then trying to figure out what they did wrong.(smh) I thank God for my blessings and had/have the option to not to go back for corrections if I choose, but not everyone is fortunate to do the same, why I called the manager and wrote this book of a review. FYI, I mostly keep my grocery receipts for a minimum of 4-6 months!! (economics crimes are serious & ongoing) 99 Cents only please do better with the correct pricing and consumers check your receipts!

Was kidnapped by wife to go into this place. I'm sorry because I really don't get it. Long lines, not enough cashiers. I'd rather pay more and get out faster.

The employees are overworked to say the least. They do a really good job at keeping the store clean and checking everyone out quickly, so it’s pretty sad to see them so tired before closing. The reason they get 5 stars from me is because I am utterly amazed by the inventory at times. Sometimes they stock up on rare items or items that are otherwise really expensive at other stores. They also have affordable snacks that I can’t find anywhere else! :) I like that I can spend less than $20 on snacks for me and my bf and always get in and out of the store in 30 mins or less. The store can get dirty and crowded during holidays or busy days, but that’s expected for most stores on the SS. Overall pretty good store!

There was a homeless man outside harassing me for money. Aggressively might I add. I told the manager about it and he was still there after I had left. This and my cashier was so high she did not ring up half of my items

I’ve been to this 99 cent store plenty of times and it’s always so well organized, clean, well stocked but the costumer service is just OK, but I went the other day and I received the BEST costumer service I’ve experienced in a while by a girl named Jojo, I needed help finding command strips hooks and she immediately stopped what she was doing to walk me to the isle, she then looked for them and apologized for not selling the kind I was looking for, but she didn’t stop there she even pulled her phone out to help me find where they might sell them or where to find them when I told her I had went to Walmart and Target. No worker has ever gone that far to help me out before! This experience got the store a five star! Hopefully I get to encounter her again!

I shop here two or three times per week, mostly for fresh produce, though I buy all kinds of things here. The cost has doubled, or more, on everything I buy, but it has everywhere with the pandemic, and they're still within reason.

I was really impressed with this 99 cent store. It was very clean and welcoming. It was easy to find the items I was looking for.

I usually I am not the kind of person that submits this kind of review, but Last night we had a very bad experience with employee Perla (Manager). She was extremely rude and decided to argue with me over some 50% items that were marked on sale but didn't want to respect the advertising (A day after Halloween). She made it such a big deal over $2, I gues she was mad because I was there a long 6 minutes after closing. I even asked her to take them off since she rudely told me she wouldn't respect the advertised price. We are loyal customers and we have never never been treated rude. I hope she can change her attitude, because it gives the store and employees a bad example. This already got to Corporate, but I am extremely dissapointed and wanted to make sure this was on here.
