Dr Grillo is great, my boy Gizmo loves her and the whole staff. Love this place.

We have been taking our dogs to VCA Wingate for 8+ years now. Our new 11 month old standard Bernedoodle puppy had surgery two days ago (Neuter and Gastropexy). He is doing GREAT! Way better than we expected! We were nervous about the gastropexy and are very pleased with the ease of his recovery so far. Dr. Grillo did an outstanding job! All in all, the team at VCA Wingate has always taken very good care of our fur babies and have always been delightful to work with. You can tell how much they love and care for our pets and we feel grateful to have such helpful, competent, compassionate and kind professionals in our community. Thank you, VCA Wingate!

The nurses are outstanding. Our puppy got her first shots, nails clipped and ears cleaned. She seemed to be very comfortable with everything.

My family and I have been going to Wingate for decades. They’ve tended to and boarded several dogs and cats, including a litter of 7 abandoned bottle babies in the summer of 2020. Everybody has always been courteous and helpful

We love the VCA team! We have a total of 3 dogs which have been seen at the hospital over 5+ years. The care has run from routine vaccines, yearly check-ups and dental cleanings, to helping our older dog cross the rainbow bridge early in covid. I have seen a few comments related to cost, and we have the dogs enrolled in CareClub which has helped immensely. It may not be for everyone, but the monthly payment worked best for us to cover most things. The cost is definitely offset with the quality of the care. Appointment communication and availability is great, I recently like the new feature of the previsit online questionnaire. I feel we leave each visit with a clear care plan, and most importantly options. I have never felt pressured into choosing a treatment or path for one of our dogs. All the techs and front desk staff are helpful, friendly and reliable. We have seen both Dr Grillo and Dr Nacey, and would highly recommend both. I believe there is another doctor newer to the hospital we have not seen. I am not paid or reimbursed for this review. We couldn’t be happier as a family about the continued care we receive at Wingate and in a time where everything is hard, they continue to be a great resource for our dogs. We know they are well cared for, and appreciate them.

My dog had an allergic reaction to something she ate or a bee sting, her face and body broke out in hives. I took her in, unannounced, on a Saturday and we were met by a very caring team. Dr. Danielle Wantuck was amazing, thoughtful, and professional. I would highly recommend taking your pet to VCA Wingate for any needs, especially emergencies.

The communication in this clinic is poor and the corporate policy for VCA currently is to to push vaccines on pets to make more money. (The franchise is owned by a candy bar company, so that isn't too surprising.) I became extremely frustrated with the staff after multiple communications back and forth only to have one veterinarian suggest that I didn't care about my dog because I was daring to get her vaccinated for something they previously said wasn't necessary and suddenly decided it was. Had the original recommendation been to just seek in-home care for the dog, that is what I would have done, but that would have been helpful information before I started trying to book some much-needed holiday travel. The clinic manager seems extremely preoccupied with the stress she feels and the stress of her staff without considering that all of us have experienced losses and made sacrifices during this time. We are all tired, and speaking for myself, I am just trying to do right for my pets while under quite a bit of stress. Yes, vets care for animals, but people take care of the animals, bring the animals in, and pay for their care, and compassion for and accountability to us is just as important. If someone doesn't feel this way, they need to be in something other than veterinary clinic management.

My dog (twice) had urgent medical issues on two different visits to Denver. Dr. Wantuck and the staff at VCA Wingate provided excellent vet care on very short notice. All of the staff were caring, professional and dedicated to the wellbeing of my pet. I very much appreciate their willingness to squeeze us into their schedule and provide my elderly pet with first class care.

Really great support staff, and honestly would love to put 4 stars for them. The real reason for 3 stars is that you cannot separate the staff from their pricing/billing. I don’t mind paying a little more for the peace of mind that my dogs are well cared for, but this example was too much. My dogs have both always been given excellent ratings on their dental health. I brush their teeth often, and provide plenty of dental chews between visits. My older dog has started showing some yellowing of the teeth and VCA recommended a cleaning. I agreed and was surprised to find they required blood work (to figure out how she would respond to anesthesia). When I asked why I could not continue using non-anesthesia based cleanings, I was informed that VCA would not recommend them and they would not perform one. I wasn’t told why they wouldn’t recommend non-anesthesia based cleaning when I pressed, but agreed to schedule it and asked for an estimate before hand. I asked 3-4 times for an estimate before getting the blood work done today with a price that shocked me back into focus. I asked AGAIN for an estimate of the cleaning and only today received one that I simply cannot afford at this time! I could have budgeted accordingly had my first request been fulfilled, and I would not be out of pocket for a blood test (which better be good for next year should I need to budget for a deeper cleaning). I truly love my dogs and will do just about anything for them, but when I am doing everything I can to support a business I like interacting with, why can’t you do your part and respond to my requests in a more timely fashion? Too many time people will rant/rage against businesses for doing what they are built to do (make money), but this isn’t what I want my review to be about. I just want better transparency and better service if I’m going to agree to pay large amounts of money for it.

I have boarded my dogs with VCA several times, but never at a location that wasn't my primary vet. I was very pleased with the experience and they asked even more in depth questions than a vet normally would at first intake which was very comforting as I was leaving my dogs and going a fair distance away. This is not a criticism of VCA Wingate since I know it's an IT issue that plagues their whole company, but I wish they had electronic information and records sharing because it could make intake faster which would mean that the wonderful staff could do more with their talents and kindness (man, do my boys love them) than just type the same info that 4 other locations have recorded from me before.
