I had a fantastic experience taking my Subaru to get worked on at Hummel's B&B Automotive. My boss referred me to them and told me to ask for Stu when I told him that I was having car troubles. My boss said that he has been taking his cars to Stu for a long time and has always been very pleased with Stu's integrity, honesty and with the overall quality of work. So I took my car in to get the problem looked at. Having car trouble and getting repairs done has always stressed me out in the past but the way my situation was handled by the manager Stu reminded me that there still are good people in the world. My experience with Stu was better than I've had with any other mechanic during my 25 years of car ownership. My experience with Hummel’s was beyond amazing. I thought the days of an honest mechanic were long gone but they are not. Hummel’s is the platinum standard by which all others should be compared. It started with the owner, Stu reaching out directly to me and taking time to explain EVERYTHING related to the repairs needed for my vehicle. He went beyond explaining what was wrong, he discussed their diagnostic approach, the overall system they were working on, and where the needed repairs fit in to it. He also explained what didn’t need to be fixed. When unanticipated parts were needed later in the process, he cleared it with me beforehand and explained why they weren’t included in the original diagnosis – then took the extra step of NOT charging me for the labor related to the installation of those parts. I knew, beyond any doubt, that every repair was necessary. They offered shuttle service for drop off and pickup and they even took my car in to make sure it passed emissions before I picked it up! Throughout this process, I never felt like I was being manipulated and I got a beyond basic level of understanding that made me very comfortable with the diagnostic results. Now here’s where the level of service gets really amazing… while I was waiting for Stu to finish the paperwork prior to payment, he had his tech hand me the keys and told me to take it for a test drive just to see how it felt BEFORE I paid. I have gone to Hummel’s a couple of times for an oil change. The Groupon deal is what initially got me to try them out and I have had a great experience every time I have gone since. They have affordable prices and quality service. It is important to note there is always a couple week minimum wait to make an appointment, but as long as you plan ahead it’s no big deal. I trust that Stu and the rest of Hummel’s has my best interest in mind. They don’t try to take advantage of you when you have a lack of car knowledge like other automotive chains. I bought a Groupon for an oil change that included additional services that I wasn't necessarily familiar with or even looking for... I just wanted the oil change.... In the end I'm very glad that I went to Hummel's and I would go there again. Stu went out of his way to take care of me and my car, fixing my break lights and under carriage shield and giving the car a detailed inspection. I feel confident about my vehicle and in the service I received...and at a very low cost. Service: Oil change
