Hummel's B&B Automotive Service

Five star service! I’m grateful to have found Hummel’s B&B Automotive and highly recommend them for any car repairs needed. Stu and his team are all extremely knowledgeable, kind, and professional. These are honest, good, hard working individuals! Stu will take the time to thoroughly explain what issues with your vehicle are found and present honest pricing. Stu was available and helped me even when my car broke down out of state. He genuinely cares and that can be hard to find in a mechanic. So much gratitude for the team here! Big O Tires

The quality of people this location has had to pick from has really gone down! From caring about your vehicle/safety to what's in your wallet an only caring about there self gain an paychecks. It's not always about the $$$ it's about helping owners stay safe on roads an educate them on why certain services are needed an extend the serves life of those parts. The people that are employed at this location only care about the paycheck an hours nothing more. Please hire quality people not those from the ghetto/hood this is a society learn be humble. ~noe

Merrill Automotive

Nothing against the people, the front desk staff are always nice. And as far as I know, the work the mechanics do is good. But they charge 2-2.5x the typical fair rates for any given job. They minimize or skip over important information when sharing would result in saving you money. I learned this by getting second, third and fourth opinions and quotes from other reputable shops as well as doing research online. I always recommend getting a second opinion in any auto-service circumstance. It's very clear to me when a shop is working in the customers best interest by sharing information clearly and openly. Especially to help you understand what exactly is going on with your car, what is necessary vs what you could do to be as efficient as possible with your money. Merrill is simply not that shop. But they do clean work in a timely manner, so if you don't mind being overcharged it's a fine place to go. Services: Steering & suspension repair, General repairs ~Joanna

Goodyear Auto Service

They performed a free basic inspection that I didn’t even ask for! They told me the car is in good shape overall. And the shop addressed my rear brake pads, rotors, and brake fluid issues in less than 24hrs!! I had the pleasure of speaking w Johnny and Loren who were both super willing to explain the issues to me in a way that makes sense. Thank you so much for your service, I look forward to returning for future needs! ~Zandra

Pickering's Auto Service - Lakewood

This was my first time using Pickerings, as I recently got a hybrid vehicle, and had to find someone to fix my car beyond what my previous mechanic can do. I see why they have such great reviews. I found them fair and communicative. Its never fun to be told you have to get an expensive part and fix, but they gave me confidence that they knew what they were doing, that the diagnosis was correct, and that the price was fair. That helps a lot when finances are tight and you have to pay a few thousand. The work was done much more quickly than estimated. When I asked about also getting a new radiator, something that had been recommended to me by multiple people who know cars, they said we don't think you need it, let's try just changing out the cap first. That saved me money and showed their integrity. Jessica, the manager whom I worked with, was really helpful in explaining things to me and working with me. She seemed like she cared that I had a positive experience and understood everything. I'm impressed and they've got a new customer. Service: Brake service & repair ~devorah

Complete Auto Repair

I have been to Complete Auto Repair a few times in the last year for an oil change, to repair my car’s a/c, and brake pads. The turnaround time and customer service has always been great, but I’ve been surprised each time by the price of each service. For example, when my a/c stopped blowing cool air, I brought it to them to see if something was wrong or if the freon just needed to be replenished. They said I should replace my entire a/c system for nearly $3,000 because there was “shrapnel” throughout the system which could keep the system from working effectively. I asked them to just do the freon, and the a/c has been working fine since. This past week my car was having trouble starting, so I brought it to them and they said that the starter was bad and the “battery harness” needed to be replaced because it was corroded, and quoted me $970 for the parts and labor. I asked if I could just get the starter replaced, and they said that wouldn’t be possible. I called another mechanic I trust and he couldn’t understand why it would possibly cost that much. I called another mechanic down the road and they said they could do the same work for $450. I went and got my car from Complete Auto Repair, cleaned the cables and battery terminals, and replaced the starter myself for $200. They ended up charging me $70 for the diagnostic, which seemed highly overpriced. For example, to rule out if it was the battery, I went to Batteries Plus, and a guy there used a diagnostic tool on the battery and alternator to help me narrow it down to the starter. It took about 5 minutes, and he did it for free. Long story short, I won’t be back to Complete Auto Repair. The work they’ve done on my car has been fine for the most part (a jitter I was getting around 65-70 mph got worse after I took my car in to get the brake pads replaced, and they said they were unable to replicate the jitter in a test drive), and it seems like they’ll always try to get you to pay for more than is necessary. They’ve always been friendly and I appreciate that, but I feel like I can’t trust their pricing or assessment of what is actually necessary to fix a problem anymore. ~Erickson
