I went to this location as it was on a list of places that would take my insurance for shoes. This place was less than a mile from my home, so I thought it was a good choice. They weren’t open at the time but had a sign in the window with a number to call to schedule an appointment. I called several times with no results even though their greeting stated they would call back within 48 hours. I went online to find out if they had a site. I requested a return phone call to schedule an appointment and finally received a call to come in and bring my Prescription for Orthopedic shoes. I spoke to the owner/gentleman and he said the don’t fill these types of prescriptions without making the orthotic insoles as well. I stated I just had them made through my Orthopedic Office. He was reluctant to help (I have never done this before and wasn’t quite sure what to expect from an orthopedic retail store) but said I could come in. If there is something in his *very limited* stock in my size he would then accommodate. He explained that he wouldn’t go out of his way, won’t put in an order for me and I must chose from what he had. (ok so now I’m feeling “less than” but decided to think positive and make the appointment. He was trying to fit me in the wrong sized shoe even when I explained that I need a snug fitting shoe and I never wear wide width as they are cumbersome and too big in the toe box area. He was trying to get rid of his old stock on me and refused to listen to what I Needed in a shoe. I politely thanked him (for nothing…) I called 👣 Footprints in Newington Ct on the Berlin Turnpike OMG!!! how pleasant how knowledgeable what a Great Experience!!! Bruce listened to my concerns and I walked out with a wonderful pair of shoes that my insoles fit perfectly They have a lifetime customer now! Kudos to Footprints!
