Worst cat rental experience. Car was dirty. They wouldn't answer the phones and I tried for 2 days. Rude and unhelpful. When I gave a bad review the manager, Xavier, never followed up. I will never use them again.

My son flew in from California because of my surgery and rented a car from Hertz. Right off two things were bad. Cars are supposed to be returned with a full tank of gas, yet the rental only had 3/8 of a tank which was noted. Since it wasn't a full tank, he had to stop for gas twice. Had it been a full tank, he would have stopped once. The other issue was the car REAKED of cigarette smoke! This was supposed to be a non-smoking vehicle. The individual from Hertz that prepared the car for the next customer would have noticed the strong cigarette odor at once and was willing to pass it off as a non-smoker vehicle is alarming. The smell in the car made me nauseous, especially on my way home from the hospital. He put a room deodorizer in the car to help dissipate the strong odor. Why was it OK to release a rental with 3/8 of a tank of gas instead of full AND why was it OK for staff and management to pass off a rental as non-smoker when indeed a chain smoker had the use of this car. When he turned in the car, they took no responsibility for this and blew him off. In turn, neither my son nor I will rent a vehicle from Hertz again. I do wish they would have told him to return it with only 3/8 of a tank & make a note on the paperwork. Enough said about that. This is a Happy story. Two days after returning the car, he flew back to LAX. I couldn't get an internet connection on my phone to request a Lyft to take me home. I started walking out into the parking lot to see if I could get a connection - but no luck. A gentleman greeted me, and I explained my connection problem. I said I lived nearby and LOW & BEHOLD he showed me his HERTZ Employee ID Card. He offered to give me a ride home and I accepted. He is a wonderful person, and his kindness is worth reminding all of us to help one another. So, Thank You to a special good samaritan from Hertz!.

Took my friend to pick up a rental from HERTZ Weds- at the Columbus Georgia airport. , the clerk saw him and asked... Are you sure you don't want to get another car? He asked why? She then said" because you are to big for the car you chose" Really? How there you ask someone that question? That was very RUDE!!! She should be retrained , because as a clerk... SHE FAILED... HANDS DOWN!!!

Worst place to get rental car. You now have to use a major credit card over debit card. If you booked through Priceline, Expedia, or etc I would avoid booking with this rental company. The airport is too small not to have rental cars available. Go somewhere else Columbus GA airport is not it.

Overall, pretty good experience. The young lady at the front desk was very prompt to get me the keys to a 2018 Nissan Rouge (with 31k miles) and overall super friendly. I ended up turning it in early and once again she was very helpful. The car itself was in decent shape and drove very well despite being a 4 year old rental car. It even had a funny cat sticker on the back placed by a previous renter I presume. The downside is that the interior of the car was rather dirty. Not AWFUL but definitely far from being clean. All it would’ve taken was a quick wipe down to get all the surfaces clean. I’ve unfortunately ran into this issue with Hertz before at different locations. Not sure what’s up with that.

Been trying to get a rental from here for weeks. 1. They definitely prefer credit card over debit card. If you want to use your debit card they'll ask for $500 deposit plus credit check. That's ridiculous but okay. 2. I ordered my rental online with one of their customer service assistance online NOT ONCE did they say anything about a $200 deposit added to your total. So my total was $262.22 but in all it was $462.22 for the $200 deposit hold. I didn't know that going to check out the vehicle. That should be acknowledged when booking online. So I cancelled. Woman at the front desk cussing and talking about people. Just overall UNPROFESSIONAL experience. I'll go another route with a rental before going here again.

Great experience with an excellent team of Hertz employees at this location, who went above and beyond my expectations. All in all, they worked with me to find the vehicle that fits my need as a frequent customer and they came through with an excellent option! I will continue renting with Hertz as long as their employees are as friendly and knowledgeable as the folks are here.

This place is so unprofessional. I will never in my go back to this place. I called to see if I could trade out cars because something did not feel right with the car they gave me. Honestly if something is wrong with the car I do not want to get penalized. Let's be honest they have my bank card on file. Needless to say the lady said the car is fine and we don't do trades and then hung up in my face. So rude and if I could give them zero stars I would. I have never in my life delt with poor costumer service like this. 🤬 I do not recommend this place at all!!!

I rented a car for a work conference. I could tell they were short staffed so I was very patient. The manager (young fella) was very pleasant and stayed after hours to ensure I had no issues when time for me to pick up the car came. I was surprised as to I knew the branch was closed when I got there and we discussed them leaving the keys for me. He helped me put my bags in the car and even called to ensure I made it to my destination. They have earned a customer for life. With so much going on customer service has plummeted. But I am extremely impressed with this young gentleman and his staff. Everyone in my family knows to call Timothy for their rental needs.

I love getting my rental from Hertz of Columbus, GA! Especially, being a GOLD Member gives you not only Discounts but points as well! I'm so so sorry for forgetting your name but this Amazing Gentleman with a low cut hairstyle, clean fashion who wear glasses, OMG his Customer Service is just Phenomenal (and it's Priceless thi find customer service like that nowadays)!! Thank you for your Loyalty Service at Hertz because I was going to go else where because I was ready to rent a vertical! PATIENCE is a Virtue! I'm in love with the 2020 Silverado now!
