Seriously, 3+ hour wait in line for a car. No I’m not joking. Feel bad for the elderly in line, and preg lady who looked real rough standing that long. Everyone has existing reservations yet the line ain’t moving. Probably worst experience trying to a get a car, and that includes my experiences in 2nd world countries. Will never use Thrift/Dollar again. People: use someone else or Turo.

Horrible experience at this company. I arrived at airport July 2nd after making a reservation through Thirty car rental months ago I observed a line for check in which was two hours long. Prior to checking in clerk advised after I was checked in there would be another three to five hour wait as they had no cars. The fault was blamed on outside companies even though I booked with them. I left and went to Enterprise and was in and out in less then one hour. Enterprise gained a customer and well Thrifty never again. The kicker was after I checked my credit card I found they tried to keep one hundred dollars for a cancellation fee when they caused the problem. This will be disputed.

Huge line at Thrifty. They told people to get out of line if they are not the actual driver, still mega jam packed. They were telling debit card renters that they’d need to show proof of round trip ticket. On the positive side, counter staff was friendly and did NOT lie to us about needing extra insurance, like Hertz did last time we were here. See separate review. Our car had a scratch, be sure to take pics.

They didn’t have the cars available despite having a reservation. They might offer good prices, but perhaps not worth the hazle. I would recommend you avoid it this business. HORRIBLE!!!! HORRIBLE!!!! HORRIBLE!!! I had a reservation scheduled through a 3rd party and there are several reasons why I did not get the vehicle that I reserved. 1. The price at the counter was different than the reservation. They required a $200+ deposit in addition to the rental fee. 2.The line was horribly long as you can see in the photos. When I arrived to Thrifty, there were all of these customers sitting, standing, milling about and even jumping double dutch in the lobby- these customers had been waiting HOURS to get their cars. 3. Cars were unavailable as it seemed they overbooked. The agents yelled out to notify customers that anyone with a reservation would have a 2-3 hour wait for their rental. I was in from out of town with a deadline and could not wait 3 hours for a vehicle. When I went to another company just a few feet away, I immediately was served, with a fantastically priced vehicle and was on my way in less time than I stood in the Thrifty rental line. I do not like to leave negative reviews however the service was very disappointing and this company must improve to gain and retain customers. I should have checked the reviews before confirming my reservation. I would be very afraid to book with them a second time after my initial experience.

Be forewarned, you will have to wait an extra 3 hours to get the car you reserved months in advance. That said, their cars were far cheaper than the competition, so if you don't mind waiting a few hours in an airport, you can save some money. That said, I won't be using their services again, I'd rather pay more than waste hours of my life because they can overbook their cars without recompense. They didn't even offer us an upgrade or a discount for our time.

I’m a little bitter about the $25 charge for the gas fee. I did fill up before delivery but that was in North Atlanta and didn’t think they would charge me for the short drive 🙄🙄 but anyways… The front desk check in, I would give a 4 start. They were helpful and swift even with a giant line. I would suggest getting Budget because they’re not busy at all. I had a Ford Fusion and it felt like the car didn’t drive very smooth and gas efficiency was terrible. My older Hyundai get better mileage. I had the car for a couple days and used half a little over half a tank. In my experience, you usually have a choice in which vehicle you get but the parking lot employee was very dismissive and hard to understand. I had to walk over to another employee to clarify. My experience was very meh. Not terrible but not great. If you can go with Aloma or Budget, should be a better experience.

Like many of these stories, I reserved a car in advance and when I showed up they told me it would be 1.5 - 2 hours to get my car. It is was just over 3+ hours wait until I got a vehicle. The wait put me into rush hour traffic and my entire afternoon for work was gone. I gave them an extra star because the car seemed clean and dropping it off was pretty quick and easy. It would understand if a person had to wait 3 hours if they did not have a reservation, but so many people were waiting and I think that is bad customer service.

Like many others, we booked and reserved a car well in advance for our arrival at Atlanta Airport, only to find out Thrifty did not have a car available for us. Annoyingly, they proceeded through the whole booking process and were about to take the deposit from my card before they told us that they didn't have a car and it would be a 5+ hour wait. Seeing other reviews, even if we had waited this long there still wouldn't have been a vehicle available, so if they say to you that there is a wait for the vehicle, it means they don't have one at all. I'd recommend cancelling immediately rather than waiting. Why they even took the booking in the first place is beyond me. The customer service stands out as one of the worst I've ever experienced. When asking why they didn't have a vehicle despite one being reserved, or why they were going to take the deposit on an unavailable vehicle, the staff seemed to take this as a personal attack and got quite aggressive back. I think the staff are more prepared to argue than actually deal with any customer issues. 5/5 for stress inducement. 0/5 for an actual car rental company.
