So far out of the few times I have been in Cliff's the experience has been fantastic! The staff are friendly, knowledgeable, and not afraid to shoot the breeze with you as much as they are not afraid to help you with knowing what it is your purchasing or asking about. Contrary to what other reviews have said, no the staff are not fudds (you know, those people that say we should not have guns besides pump action shotguns and bolt action rifles.) They can be "old-fashioned" but I've not seen that be a problem at all. Ammo is a little on the spendy side, but frankly you tell me a place that has it on the real cheap. Selection of guns is also pretty good too. Cliff's deserves a fair shot.

Consistently the worst prices on ammo and reloading components in Boise. Staff are all old fudds. This is not the place to take your wife, girlfriend, or leftest coworker looking to buy their first gun— Cliff’s will certainly do anything they can to scare off a new or unsure gun owner. There’s plenty of much better gun stores in Boise that don’t price gouge that deserve your business.

I came in with a flat out trade offer, my M1A loaded in like new condition with only 40 rounds fired through the gun for a M1A socom 16 also in good condition but clearly with more wear and tear than mine. The helpful gentleman behind the desk was assisting me, cliff wasn’t there to authorize the deal, so he said he’d run it by him and give me a call. I didn’t hear from him for over a day, and when I got ahold of the man, he said he didn’t even want to call me because he didn’t want to offend me with cliffs offer. As soon as I heard the offer, I understood why I never got that call. We are talking about two guns, when brand new, MSRP for Less than 100 dollars difference. He wanted more than 200 dollars behind my gun for the trade. A ridiculous offer, that clearly shows cliff is in the business of trying to rip you off. I will never give him any of my business after this experience, and if you’re smart, you won’t either.

I know a business is gotta make a profit, but twice I saw women in there getting a quote on pistols they wanted to sell and they were absolutely Getting ripped off by hundreds of Dollars. There's right and then there's wrong. Cliffs has always been extremely high priced and That on top of seeing these unsuspecting women getting taken advantage of for maximum gain has made damn sure I'll never step foot in there. I Recommend EVERYBODY stay away from there!

I used to enjoy this place but in the shortage type of times we are in, they have become excessive price gouging crooks. $70 for one pound of h4350?! $200 + for a box of 1000 primers?! No wonder they are the only ones around that have them in stock. I feel really bad for all the people that have paid those prices. Do not support Cliffs Guns and safes. Do not support price gouging thieves.

This shop is crunchy and varied - exactly what I like in a family owned store. I expect the employees to be busy and opinionated. This place is as much of a curio as it is a competent firearms store. I don't think paying the lowest price possible at a place where the salesman is going to tell you what you want to hear is the best way to buy a gun. Rather, I like the fact that Cliff's has its own competency and the employees are happy to work safely within it. A true link in the community, a family friendly piece of Idaho living history. Hunters, bench shooters and 2nd amendment defenders should be at home here. The reloading area is one of the best around. Second hand and antique safes for a distinct fit in the home of any advocate or collector. CLOSE OUTS!! and parts and equipment for DIYers. I feel supported here!

In my previous post, I did return on May 21st 2021 to Cliffs. I was once again like a kid in a candy store. They had everything I needed to start reloading 45-70 caliber. We could not find 45-70 dies on the Sales Floor. I get a call a few hours after my visit to tell me they had found a set in the back. I bought them as well. I cant say enough GREAT things about this store. Treated me great, kept me inform of my items being shipped back to Ohio. I will be back in Boise again sometime in October, and you know where I will be purchasing more reloading components. Thanks for everything that you do for me. It is greatly appreciated. I was out visiting my daughter who is in the Air Force last October, and we stopped in to look around. I was greatly surprised that they had a bunch of Starline Brass in .357 Magnum on hand. Picked up 500 cases and shipped back to Ohio. I often call here from Ohio, because not only did they treat me well, they are always friendly to me. I will be back out for a visit in May. Cant wait to stop in again to see what you have that I need.

Shop has a decent supply of components for reloading, though at much higher prices than I've seen in other shops. Still, they have stuff. Customer service was good, except from the old guy who snarled at me....found that odd. Ended up walking out with some projectiles I was looking for at a decent price.

Support your local gun store! Great staff of knowledgeable people there to help everyone from the curios to the marksman. They have a large selection to choose from and a good variety of accessories too. Kevin P. helped me decide what to buy and they had ammo when a large national chain was sold out. Thank you!

Cliff's Gun shop is truly a firearm lover's paradise. The folks that staff this business are very helpful, friendly and eager to help. They treat their customers with care and go out of their way to make sure you are happy. Prices are competitive and in some instances, much better than the "big Box" places who might try to convince you that they will always have the price edge over "the little guy." I have bought new and used firearms here and I go to Cliff's FIRST for my reloading supplies. I live 40 miles away and consider it the first place that I go when shopping for sporting goods and firearm supplies. I have to give Cliff's six stars. Ooops.... Not possible? I don't care. Great place!!! They have my business......
