Cold, rude, and did not seem to care if we spent our money there or not. We left after about a minute of very uncomfortable interactions. Seems like others have had similar negative experiences there recently. Too bad. We used to go there a few times a year for me and my son.

I had come here a couple of years ago and was excited to see the stylist who said she lived in Rantoul. Instead I was greeted from the back of the room by a voice that said they would be up there in a minute. No one was in the place and 5 minutes later, red hair lady with glasses came up and asked if I had an appointment and I said “ no”. She said, for the last 2 years they have taken appointments only ( with a snarky voice) and I said, I have been standing here for nothing and am from out of town.’” And she rambled on that they are booked and good luck to you in getting a haircut anywhere, it is graduation week, as I was trying to escape her wrath and attitude. You didn’t ruin my day, but I hope to ruin yours with this review. Get a new job lady, your customer service is the pits.

All of the hairdressers are very friendly. Melanie is great and I always enjoy talking with her! Cost cutters is most affordable place to go and get quality work. :)

I went to cost cutters for shampoo and blow out. I was charged $86 which is way too much! I asked Melanie to shampoo my hair twice and she said it would cost extra. When I asked her how much she didn’t give a clear answer. She said it can be $5 or $6 or maybe even $7. I didn’t care and I said yes go ahead with it. I also asked her to use conditioner on my hair and she said it would cost extra and I agreed to it. She blow dried my hair after the shampoo. While i was checking out she gave me a total of $86 and I was surprised. I didn’t argue because I didn’t know what the cost is like. While I was waiting for my Uber I looked up the cost and while there was no clear cost given online nowhere on the internet did it say that cost cutters could get this expensive. I walked up to Melanie to ask her why I was charged so much and she was extremely rude and salty towards me. After I got in my Uber my Uber driver was kind enough to call up cost cutters and enquire about the price. Melanie answered the call and said it would be $39 for the exact service that I got and mentioned that it would cost extra for extra shampoo and extra conditioner. She also said that every 10 minutes of blow dry would add to the cost. However, I reached cost cutters at 4:01 pm and assuming that she washed my hair till 4:15-4:20 pm and then stated blow drying I would say my blow dry took up to 20 minutes. I still don’t see why I was charged so high. Melanie was unkind, rude and I was ripped off. I DO NOT RECOMMEND. I filed an official complaint on the cost cutters website and I will see to it that action is taken against this.

Excellent service and friendly staff who is very skilled in what they do. I have been satisfied with their haircuts, though there can be 15 minutes wait sometimes despite a scheduled appointment.

Melanie did my hair, she was very nice and did a great job in half of the time I usually spend at a hair salon. It was very easy to make an appointment and I will keep coming back to get my hair cut. The whole area was also very cleaned and looked nice, felt very comfortable during the whole process.

I was in the area, so I stopped by to see if they had any openings. A lady asked me if I had an appointment, I said no, and she got a huge attitude with me. I've gotten cuts in the past as a walk-in, and sometimes it doesn't work out because they're booked. I live closeby, so it's really no big deal to me. What is a big deal to me is customer service. I went across the street to CVS and bought clippers instead, and I recommend you do too.

So I am someone who never gets my haircut. I called cost cutters and spoke with a really wonderful lady Melanie. She made me already feel so comfortable over the phone, and when I went in, it was very clean and welcoming. Melanie was great. She listened and talked me through everything. As much hair that I got cut off after 15 years I couldn't be happier. Melanie you are my forever hair stylist. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
