I rent from Avis all the time and have had great experiences but this West Dundee location is absolutely trash! The employee was sitting talking on her personal cell phone when I walked in…she did not end her call, I honestly thought she was a customer. Then she told me that even though I had already paid for my reservation online she had no cars. I asked her if she could call the next closest location and she said “I guess so”. I asked her if she could at least help process my refund since she had no cars and she didn’t know how to. She was absolutely no help, don’t go here.

Suppose to drop off my car at 11 am and no one came into the office until 11:24. Walked right passed me and then his son asked about the car I was renting. 5 minutes later the wife came in and took over. This place is a joke.

Worst customer service I've ever experienced. West Dundee IL location opened 20 minutes late upon picking the car up and returning the car. Avis West Dundee is a waste of time.

Garbage. I do not believe any of the reviews higher than a 1 star. Why is it that they never have any of the vehicles that were reserved? Do they know what a reservation is? They told us literally last minute to take the only car they had (the one we did not reserve) and bring it to O'hare (opposite of our travel) and drop it off and find another car there. Essentially, not their problem we do not have a car. If you feel like having a bad day, by all means conduct business here. This is a surefire way to make your blood boil. The car we ended up with smells like cigarettes and is filthy. Also, there is a reason people reserve certain vehicles. A van would have fit 6 adults with luggage for a week. But the car given to us, doesn't fit anything. Please put your closed sign up indefinitely and make the community happy.

This is my first time ever making a review because of how awful this place is. I reserved a car 3 months ahead of time. By the day of rental, car was missing. Turns out someone else wanted the vehicle and paid more for it. Imagine a company not telling you about how they sold your reservation to someone else-- how unethical and greedy for money. Imagine planning months ahead of time for a trip just for it to be cancelled then be lied to. Do they understand what the point of a reservation is??? Lmao don't think this place knows what reservations are. Anyways the best part is that there was no compensation. Like at least give us alternative vehicles, if the one we reserved is gone. TL:DR -Should read other 1 star reviews they were not wrong. -As other reviews say, car will be gone on pick up date. -Unethical and unprofessional -Customer service holds you for an hour just to say they can't help you -If vehicle is gone, no compensation actually more fees on your side.

The folks I met here just weren't very experienced yet. I had a reservation, they didn't have a car. The guy who came in after me had the same experience. Then they charged me for the car that I did not received. The next time I need to rent a car, I won't be going back to these guys.

Picked up car on a Friday , sign said open at 12. Nobody showed up til 12:15-12:20. Returned car on a Wednesday and of course we had to wait again. If you are going to be late all the time change the sign so customers are not there waiting for you.

Worst experience ever! Unbelievable worst customer service! Reserved premier SUV from West Dundee via Costco travel. Confirmed reservation night before pick up. 2 hours before pick up receive call that the vehicle I reserved on May 11 is unavailable. Avis employee in West Dundee Spring hill location unable to locate Suburban or Explorer and made me call the 800 Avis number to have them find one. One is found 45 minutes away and I have to pick it up and I'm charged an extra $500. Opened up case but still pending. I'm letting everyone that I know NEVER rent from Avis.

Outstanding service as always. I have never had to point out that I'm a preferred member because they treat me like one regardless. The staff knows their cars and regardless of how short my notice has been they have always been able to produce a better car than requested. Top notch.

Very pleased with my overall rental experience. My time at the counter to leaving the lot with my car was about 5 minutes. The rep was very easy going and helpful. All of my questions were answered, even when I called as I was on the road. I will definitely rent again from this location again when I'm back in town.
