It is obvious that they are understaffed, but I think the existing staff are doing the best they can. They are always helpful and patient with me. It's not always a pleasant place during the holidays and I've ran into some really rude patrons there, but the staff seem to handle it well. I think some more effort can be put into the cleanliness of the place, but overall I've had good experiences here.

Tony at the desk is no help at all in any situation with poor deliveries. And he doesn't know how to keep his mask over his nose. We've only been in a pandemic for 18 months, so he must be a REALLY slow learner. I recently moved to the area and have been waiting on a piece of mail for over a month. I signed up for the forwarding and informed delivery where you get to see a scan of what should be arriving in your mail that day. First they returned the mail to the sender even though it had the CORRECT name, address, zip, etc. The sender took a photo and emailed it to me and everything was correct. They re-sent it and I got the scan saying it would be delivered along with 4 other pieces of mail. Well, I went to my mailbox and there were only 4 pieces of mail. The one I was waiting for was missing. The next day, still nothing. I showed the photos to Tony and he had nothing helpful to offer. I provided my phone number and told him to have my mail carrier Vince call me. The next day I received no call. I went back to the center, stood in line again, and asked Tony why Vince didn't call. He said he talked to Vince and Vince said "I just deliver what I get" but failed to ever call me. These workers clearly have no pride in their work. As I can now see from the other reviews here, this location seems to be plagued with incompetence and apathy. What a joke.

After having multiple pieces of mail lost and having to pay several stop payment fees to the bank, I contacted the Monticello post office about the latest missing check which was to be delivered to a PO box within their location. The manager, Rebecca Mock, assured me she would look into the issues and contact me quickly with resolution. It's been a month, I've made a follow-up phone call and sent two emails and have heard nothing from the manager or anyone else with the post office. Our office has even had certified mail lost. I will avoid using the postal service whenever possible!

Just returned home having placed mail delivery on hold for 6 days, and selecting the deliver mail option (online). My mail was held, but today as scheduled we received today's mail only, instead of a week's worth. Called the USPS help line and got a greater than 1 hour hold. In spite of all the investment in technology by USPS, it still boils down to the staff at the Monticello branch and their inability to complete the simplest of tasks. AND, I now have to drive to the branch, mask up, and attempt to find a person there who can find my mail.

I am consistently impressed with the attentiveness of the US Postal Service team at this location & enjoy the community feel in the lobby. People practice social distancing safety protocol while waiting; staff works collaboratively to keep wait time to a minimum. Grateful this is my hometown office!

I’m wasting my time by leaving this review but will anyway. I’m wasting my time because nothing ever improves at this post office. I’ve read other reviews about how items such as cards coming from this location are repeatedly “lost in the mail.” We get scans of incoming mail and were expecting three cards for an occasion. None of them made it to our mailbox. This is not even close to the first time they have “lost” our mail either. Once, we were missing several packages that were a week or more past the scheduled delivery date. They found them sitting in the back of the facility when I went in to investigate. They always say there is nothing they can do. Nothing gets done. I would move if I could to get away from this post office.

Dropped off a package beginning of January to be delivered to AT&T for a refund. The package never arrived. Thank goodness I still have the tracking number. Post office gave me a "consumer affairs" number to call, I left a message, never received a call back. Tried calling the PO three times after calling consumer affairs, and they don't answer. Very frustrating!

We had a big package delivered yesterday into our large postal top locker. When I inserted the key it did not turn. After waiting 35 minutes on hold, the USPS agent took my information and advised she would alert my local post office about the problem. Now today, I got the key for the bottom locker and guess what?!?!?! NOT TURNING EITHER!!!!!! And I’m told my phone wait is going to be 60 minutes!!!!! There is no other way to contact these people unless you jump in your car and go to the post office. I am beyond angry and frustrated!!

Most of people that work here are incredibly rude. I understand that most of the people coming in are probably going to complain but still, you shouldn't make someone feel like a jerk just because they don't want to leave without their mail. I went in trying to find a package that had been marked as undeliverable because the address was wrong (note: the address was actually right). I had talked on the phone with USPS and Amazon and they assured me that the package would be at this location the next day. So, 10 to 20 minutes of a hassle of them telling me that it wasn't there and getting different numbers from me (I will say I did write 1 number down wrong) and going back-and-forth and trying to find it she finally brought it out. She also brought out another piece of my mail that was going to be delivered that day. I stood there checking to make sure that this was the right item and she left the counter and came back about five minutes later. I asked if I was all set and she said, yes, you got your package you can go - in a harsh tone. I responded, shouldn't you mark these as delivered or something and she said I guess so..... I am always hesitant to come to this location and these interactions are why!! Get it together people!!

So let me tell you a story. The post man didn't even knock on my door but just left a notice for me to pick up a very important package. And I was sitting right in the living room where the door was so I know he didn't even knock. So I decided to go to the post office to pick up my package. The staff was so rude it was terrible. One clerk kept asking people if they wanted stamps instead of asking me who was third in line and waiting in front of two people that needed certain help just to get a package. And then there are 10 people in line and a woman comes in for a passport and are only two clerks. So what does clerk do? She helps the lady with the passport leaving all of us in line who are first waiting. When they finally get to me they tell me that they can check my package!! Then the lady comes back saying she can't find it! They tell us all to go home before it gets worse because it's not gonna get any better. Who in their right mind tells a bunch of people that of been waiting in line for an hour to go home. This is our property! We pay you to do your job! So then I rescheduled the delivery for the next day. Never showed up! Next day I went back to the post office and she stated I'm sorry it looks like the carrier forgot....forgot???? Excuse me? Where is my package!? I called them again, and asked "where is my package?" The African-American man on the line didn't even ask me for my information before he rudely stated "well why would it be here?" Are you that ignorant ? It's because you're a post office and should have my property! These people all need to be fired. They are going to get sued if they keep this up. I still don't know where the package is. Left on the truck at night ? Is that legal? As if it's not on the truck and it's not in the post office where the hell is it!? They still can't find it!
