When I accidentally tripped over and dropped my baby--err, I mean PS5 last night, my heart jumped into my stomach. I thought I was doomed. LA Tech Repairs came to my rescue and they delivered the service FAST! I called around to other game console repair shops in L.A. to get estimates of prices and not only was this place the least expensive, they were also the fastest. Other places quoted 1-3 business days turnaround. These guys? 1-2 HOURS, same day!!!! Now, I will say I was lucky because they happened to have the parts it needed in stock--that's not always the case. I thought my HDMI port was the only issue with my PS5 but when Alex called me two hours after drop-off he said that he noticed a micro-fracture on the video chip and that when they've fixed other HDMI ports and they still didn't work, the replacement of the video chip was always the answer 100% of the time. When I asked how much more $$$ it was going to cost, I got scared.... but he told me that since he had already gone into the system he would only charge me for the hardware. SO. NICE. He asked permission to go ahead and replace that chip too and then half hour later, my baby was like new! THANK YOU ALEX and LA TECH REPAIR! I will definitely drive 25 miles back and forth again should I ever need your services. And don't take this personally... I hope I don't need them again. :) ~Erin

There are numerous things wrong with my iPad screen repair: 1. The repair contract only has a warranty of 10 days which wasn’t enough time for the issue I experienced to set in (took ~1 month). Although he was a gracious enough to attempt and fix the issue pro bono, his attempt did not fix the issue and the second time I came in he pointed to his warranty as the reason I couldn’t request money back. 2. The glue between the screen and iPad became gradually less adhesive over the course of the month. He explained that it is likely due to me using it in hot temperatures, but I would consider my use normal, and doubt this would happen on a brand new iPad. My alternate theory is the excessive amount of dust and previous glue residue I found on the tape might cause problems. This makes me think he didn’t properly clean the iPad before setting the screen. It was a “rush job” because I came in just before the close of business and he said he could finish the repair in 20 minutes… it appears a few corners were cut. I would have much preferred he tell me he needed an additional day to do it properly. 3. I requested my money back past the warranty expiration (~2-3 months or so). His immediate response was handing me back my iPad and saying “you should leave”. I wanted an explanation, which made him irate. He raised his voice at me and accused me of being both disrespectful to him and ignorant while trying to lecture me about how to fix both of these alleged issues. It was a very one sided conversation… It made me so emotional that I literally teared up. Although he did apologize when he noticed how emotional I was getting, it was too little too late. I told him numerous times to watch his tone with no noticeable impact. To say “I think he needs to be more customer oriented” is an understatement. ~Daniel
