10 Best grocery store in Modesto, California (CA) 2024

Facility is clean, neat and tidy and always seems to be well stocked. More so than the other two target locations in modesto, as I've been able to get items the other two were out of for weeks, and they had plenty right on the shelf. Bathrooms were well cared for, clean and very tidy, thank you. Store employees were regularly cleaning and sanitizing heavily interacted with surfaces ~Maggy

Today my experience was disappointing. There was a new male cashier and he was unpolite, never smiled nor greeted us and worse of all we both said thank you (even though he never made eye contact) and he didn't answer us back. He didn't say the "Today you saved this much thingy" he just circle it and gave us our receipts. ~Linda

Waited 30 minutes for them to open the monster case, only to be told they didn't even have the key to open the case. Not to mention one of the workers out right ignored us when we asked her, cashier and manager were very sweet though. We asked if we could just get 12 monsters like in the case and pay the same price as that but unfortunately they weren't able to do that. Besides the one worker who blatantly ignored my mother when she asked for help, everyone was very kind and respectful. ~The

Usually shop at Winco. Still think I will do most of my shopping there. Cost Less has low prices on some meats and a few ítems also having some items that I wouldn’t find there will have me coming back for limited items. ~Francisco

Clean fast and friendly. They have a lot of healthy drinks that my wife don't see in other stores. I couldn't find my bag of chips but they are hard to find. We came here to order a cake for my son's birthday and the bakery was helpful and courteous. Will be back ~RICHIE

I like shopping there for an essentials it's always a good place to save money but it's no longer a dollar it's a $1.25 ~Eugene

I really enjoy going to all the dollar trees. It's just this particular one always has shady people walking around or just hanging around both inside and out. It's just a little scary at this one on McHenry. Most of the time it's pretty clean and organized, but the last three times I've been to this particular one the isles are filled with clutter. There are people all over the store restocking and blocking isles off and it's just chaos in the whole store. I don't even get to see all of the merchandise either. ~Rachel

First of all the bakery lady was rude to my wife they have the Jurassic park cake we tried to preorder 3 weeks ahead for my son's party. And told us rude they didn't have the character and I insisted that it won't be for a couple of weeks she responded back rudely saying it wouldn't be in and said snobby and rolled her eyes . The boy working the register had to apologize for her behalf. Also I Haven't been here for a while the prices are ridiculously expensive. For a bag of family chips was 6.99. I suggest this store for one or two things if your in a hurry but not for grocery shopping. ~RICHIE

So sad to see this store in such shambles. The restroom was disgusting and nasty. I would think their reason should be they are short staffed, but not sure. ~Arlene
