Best auto repair shop in Novato, California (CA) 2024

I have used Steve for 25+ years and this morning I just dropped off my car for some work. I never write a review about anything but Steve deserves it. If you are looking for a mechanic you just found him. Steve has done all of our work, except for a Dodge van we owned years ago. He didn't service Dodge products but that didn't stop him from putting it up on the lift to have a look at what was wrong with it and referring us to a mechanic that serviced Dodge products. And he didn't charge us to look at it. Steve is the best. Service: General repairs & maintenance ~Randy

As always, Novato Auto dealt with issues of my 2001 Dodge, Dakota, in a timely, professional manner. I have never had an issue with the crew or workmanship of this awesome and honest auto repair shop. They are an asset to our community. Tried to get a quote for two days just for me to call them on the second day to be told they can't give a quote at all with out seeing the vehicle. I spoke to two different people and nither of them mentioned having to see the car. They were friendly but wasted my time ~Robz

Spoke with parts. They said they would order a part and it would be there in 2 days. I arrived at the dealer in 2 days later to pick up said part. Part was not there and there was no record the part was ever ordered. Had to order the part again and wait 3 more days. Don't waste your time with these guys. They don't care about their customers. 12/28/21 - update. I reached out to Todd (the owner who replied to my review) weeks ago at his request so he could "make things right" but never heard back. I believe his response to my original message was just an attempt to save face for those reading reviews. We purchased our third car from this dealer a couple years back but have decided to no longer support them moving forward. We have been using Toyota Marin in San rafael for service, parts and our latest vehicle purchase. They treat us well and don't play games. Highly recommended them. ~Charles
