I brought a car in that I inherited from a deceased family member. The car had been parked for over a year so it was totally dead and I had to get it towed in. I explained why I was in Massachusetts and that I was only in town for Saturday and I planned on driving the car to Pennsylvania Sunday morning. The person I left my keys with in the morning assured me that they would inspect the car thoroughly and get it up and running after explaining all of that. Even the advertisement on the wall said they would check a list of things if you ask. I'm not very knowledgeable about cars and I had to take care of my deceased family member affairs on Saturday while Midas had the car so I didn't have time to fully inspect the car because they said they would do it. They got the car up on running 30 minutes before they closed. They told me the car was perfectly fine and it didn't need anything but the battery. The car got me home safely on Sunday but I noticed things from the time I left the shop till Sunday afternoon when I unloaded the car. I noticed the following:
Needed Service.
Needed Engine Oil.
Needed Brake Fluid.
Shop didn't screw in the battery after changing it.
Missing spare tire (I wasn't told about this)
Missing jack (I wasn't told about this)
Looks like it's missing fuses.
Even though the car got me home it's very scary to know that I could've ran out of engine oil, lose control of the brakes or got a flat that I could not replace 200+ miles away from home on a Sunday. ~Don
