Texas Bank and Trust

I have been banking with Texas Bank and Trust since I moved to Texas 5 years ago. All of the branches have the most professional and friendly people working for them. If you are shopping for a friendly and good bank check this group out. Also on Fridays this branch has fresh cookies, which is a bonus. ~Peter

Bank of America (with Drive-thru ATM)

If I could give negative stars for this branch I would, management has created a strong disincentive for any walk up business but especially non account holder business. If you are a non account holder be prepared to WAIT, you must meet with a personal banker to approve your check to be cashed! This could take 10 minutes waiting, this could take over an hour, it just depends how many are waiting, how many personal bankers are working and available and their other duties. There is also normally only one teller on duty and after you meet with the personal banker you are put back at the end of the same line to cash the check. Clearly, they are trying to make the process so aversive non account holders will try to go elsewhere and account holders will choose other options vs. coming into the branch. Management is abysmal and basically stated they do not care if customers are severely inconvenienced, when asked about the terrible customer service and treating non account holders as if they are persona non grata. I was even asked by the Manager didn't I have somewhere else I could go to cash the check? The check DRAWN on Bank of America, the message was clear, we don't want you here you are NOT welcome here. ~Lyla

Austin Bank

Rude and take for ever! I can be the only car in line and they take forever! There is one lady that is always sitting on a chair, she is so rude! So she had finished making my Deposit and then tells me that my deposit was over so she put that money back in the bag, so I asked her if she could just add it to my deposit and she looked at me like if I was crazy and slightly rolled her eyes at me! ~Samantha

Southside Bank

Overall, disappointed with SouthSide Bank as a whole. I thought it would be a great experience joining a local bank. Due to the size of SouthSide overall, the bank does not function with a sense of urgency as far as most services. Extended days to have a check cleared compared to other ‘corporate’ banks such as BoA and Chase, a 24-36 hour wait time in being able to use a temporary card, and limited accessibility to phone tellers/customer service for those who work extended hours and not available during SSB’s ‘business hours’/‘hours of availability’ I am also not impressed with their fraud department. I received a letter in the mail stating that there might have been some fraudulent activity on my account... days after they suspected it. No phone call, no email, no in-app notifications. SSB Mobile app has a lot to be desired. It operates as if a high schooler has developed it. Bugs need to be worked out when it comes to the password reset through the app. After just a few months, I will be withdrawing my accounts and unfortunately taking my business elsewhere. A 10 day hold on both my stimulus check and a corporate check written off of BoA is absolutely unacceptable. No bank will ever be perfect, no matter whom you bank with but the tiny things such as those stated above should not be an issue for a bank of this size. Hopefully some of the new BOD members can find funding to improve on these areas. ~Maya
