My wife and I were in town for a wedding from Idaho in April. It was a Saturday and few bakeries were open. My wife bakes and we wanted to try something from Louisiana. It was our first time being there. We saw on Google their store closed at 6pm. We showed up with a few minutes to spare not realizing Star’s Bakeshop hadn’t updated their hours on Google from 6pm to 5pm. Being blissfully unaware of any closed signs as we pulled in, my wife and I got out of our car got to the front doors and saw the closed sign! I pulled on the door, looking at my watch, clearly seeing it wasn’t 6pm yet! Immediately one of the employees came out and said, sorry, we closed at 5pm. I said, at 5pm?! On Google it says 6pm. I told him we are out of town and asked if he had anything available to sell? He said he did. He let us come in and we purchased a bunch of desserts, left him a good tip and went on our way! My wife and I appreciated this employee allowing us to come in, even after hours, and purchase some desserts! He was really nice. I can’t remember his name! Had a smile on his face the whole time! The desserts though, were so delicious! We purchased 4 different types of desserts. I wish I could remember what they were. We were not disappointed with our experience there! I don’t know if we will ever go back to Lafayette ever again. Our friends live in Georgia. But if we do we will definitely stop by again!

Star is AMAZING! On Saturday we had a crawfish boil birthday party for my daughter and this is the cake that Star made for us! She's been our go-to for a few years and she never disappoints! The cake is always moist and BEAUTIFUL to look at!

Star’s bake shop was a highlight of my trip to Lafayette. I got the cheesecake and it was heavenly. The shop is cute and I will definitely come back!!!

Follow her on Instagram to see all her delicious food. We got a cheesecake tray for a Christmas party that was a huge hit. Would go everyday if my waistline could afford. Always smiling and friendly every time I visit.

Every time I come here I treat myself to my favorite, a brownie…it’s so soft, just the right amount of sweet and it’s always a generous piece. I’ve purchased the peach cobbler for my Dad and recently the red velvet cheesecake for a friend - needless to say they absolutely loved both and always ask where I get the desserts. Always great, friendly service and will always be my number 1 stop for any sweets. She also serves lunch & that will be the next thing I try!

Days have gone by and people are still calling and asking, "who made that cake?", and talking about how good the cake was! I didn't eat it while everyone else was eating it at the event, but when I sunk my teeth into it at 2 in the morning when we finally settled home, I saw exactly what the hype was about. Had the Red Velvet Slice which was HUGE and GREAT but then had the CHEESECAKE!! Are you kidding me!?!! It was light, amazing the BEST I HAVE EVER EATEN! Two of us split it and we are PICKY as Heck and the entire time, each bite our EYES were popping!! This is definitely a TALENTED BAKER!! Kudos!! Really needs 10 STARS.

Hands down one of the best places to purchase food or sweets in Acadiana if not the best! I had the shrimp and grits and my daughter had the chicken quesadilla. Everything was absolutely delicious! The Turtle brownie is so good. I definitely recommend Star’s Bakeshop.

I ordered some horseshoe shaped cookies for my granddaughters birthday, the theme of the party was "cowgirl". The cookies were fabulous. She pays such attention to detail. The kids loved them so much. Then I ordered some white chocolate covered Oreos and she put some ballerina shaped white chocolate decorations on top of them. I have referred many people to her when asked about who can make a special cake for them.
