This is not a good place to go… I really dislike talking badly on business but I really want people to know the truth. This owner has a problem of thinking everyone has something against him. Very rude man. Owners should take pride in what that do. This man doesn’t take pride in his business yet alone his fish. My fish died not even 3 weeks after having it. Which wasn’t correct because I had a very good taken care of tank. I take pride in my fish…Stay away from this place and put your money where people actually care and you’ll get a good product. Don’t walk but run from this business or you’ll regret it 😖

Worst experience I have ever had while shopping. Called ahead to see if they had fish. Came in and picked some out. Asked the gentleman if the one in the display was for sale (since frequently they are not, but sometimes yes) The result follows: "No, it's a DISPLAY" "Ah. Okay, do you work here?" "Yes" "Okay, when you're done with your bucket we could use some help catching some fish" "I am not into this domination thing you have going on" "What?" "You need to understand you are not in charge here." "What?" "The only thing you control is you, and you're attitude is absolutely not acceptable" "Okay, we are leaving" "Good! I DONT HAVE TO PUT UP WITH YOUR ATTITUDE" Ummmm.... Rick's Fish says thanks for the business.

After spending 20- 30 minutes finally encountered an employee, said "hey I don't want to interrupt you with your bucket or whatever when you finish up can someone come help me? " and got called domineering. OK selection super rude staff. Worst pet shop experince I've had in 30 years of the hobby.

I was initially very discouraged and left a 1 start review but I was able to change it to 5. I’m a beginner and had gone there and saw an Orange Spotted Filefish that looked cool. I asked the associate about it and she said it was a hardy fish that could live in my newly established tank and eat whatever my clowns eat. When I got home with it I did further research and discovered that the opposite was the case. However…..I spoke to the manager and she was very apologetic. It was a new associate that helped me and wasn’t familiar with the fish. She told me to bring it back, no problem. And gave me store credit. Very pleased

Been going to the store for over a year now! We drive an hour to get there. Recently it’s went down hill! A lot of tanks are empty or have an algae issue. Some fish appeared very sick also. Our most recent trip to the store the owner acted like a complete jerk to us when we asked him a question. We won’t be back! They lost a customer today!

I have purchased a lot of saltwater fish from the various stores in the Frederick and Urbana areas. This is the only business that has consistently delivered healthy saltwater fish that actually live a long time in my tank. I believe it is the result of their meticulous cleaning and maintenance of their in-store tanks and how they source their stock. They have a nice variety of fish and coral species despite the relatively small size of their store. They also offer RODI fresh and saltwater as well as a very good selection of fresh and frozen fish foods, chemicals, filtration material. etc. However, they do not carry a large inventory of tanks, pumps, filters and equipment. My impression is they are more focused on providing high quality live stock, which they do exceptionally well.

Little shop packed full of aquarium finds. Lots of frags to choose from. Friendly staff, decent fish supply. Only minus is no prices on tanks you have to look on price sheet and match up, which is hard for me small print in a dark space. I came home with several corals, cleanup crew, and a shrimp.

I'm not usually leave bad reviews, but let's say that's the most expensive urchin if I consider that the shrimp was upside down when I get back home and the other 2 fishes died on the next day. I send a message to them and they asked me to bring my water to test, even when the shrimp was death when I get home and I just told them about the shrimp that same day, I didn't waste my time telling them about the other 2 fishes and I was not driving over an hr just to have them testing my water. I have over 4 years with my tank and same fishes since then, I test my water and parameters seems fine. I saw few fishes death on different tanks. I hope they can do it better for them, the customers and the fishes!

Would not recommend because they are impossible to get ahold of, and I cant justify driving 45 minutes for them to not have hardly any freshwater fish in their store (did this once). They also never post any stock lists for their freshwater fish, only saltwater. I have been trying to get fish from them and/or do business with them for over a month now. I am beginning to think they do not care about freshwater hobbyists or care to have my business. *update to my review* Funny how this review gets attention so quickly... there isn't anything fishy about my review. I attached a couple pictures for you to look at if you think my post is so "fishy". The message via Facebook was sent after I commented on a post which was not acknowledged, BUT somehow someone from your store managed to comment on TWO comments after mine (see the picture). After this the following week I sent you an email through your website, that went unanswered... I then called EVERYDAY for a week straight, at various times during your normal business hours with no one answering....So, I have officially done everything you said to do (many times): call, email, and Facebook messaged with no response. What more is there to do?- I guess speak to you through a review? Furthermore, as far as I have seen-before I quit following you on Facebook because it seemed to be a lost cause as far as freshwater fish-I have not once seen a "freshwater stock list", in your own words the posts are filled with all sorts of saltwater fish and on one line at the very bottom it reads "TONS OF NEW FRESHWATER FISH IN STOCK TOO!" (or some variation of this)- so I guess you can say you posting the freshwater stock list for once is a step in the right direction. I am all for small businesses, and actually would rather do business with small businesses. Here's your one star constructive criticism- maybe it's time to get everyone on the same page and have your employees forward on YOUR info for someone to get a hold of you. Maybe it's time to take some of the effort you put into setting up tanks and spend it someplace else. Maybe this is a time for you to not become so defensive and take this info and make your business that much better. I have spent way to much time and effort trying to get ahold of you (or someone in general) and writing this review, so at this point I am taking my time and money elswhere. Oh, by the way. You should probably teach your employees a thing or two about freshwater fish if you are going to dive into that market because a redtail catfish CAN and WILL grow larger than 12 inches long. (And no the attached photos are NOT photo-shopped in any way)

Of all the Fish in the Sea, Fintastic is the Aquarium for me. Definitely a go to for your salt-water aquarium needs. They not only have an amazing staff and quality of service but they have a huge selection that is constantly being updated. You won’t be disappointed when starting your salt-water aquarium hobby with Fintastic either. They will help guide and lead you in the right direction when it comes to owning a salt-water tank. There are 2 entrances to the aquarium. If you go through their storefront, you will be kindly greeted and also be able to enjoy the beachside/nautical decor. Inside of the aquarium, you will be able to enjoy countless organisms that can entertain you and your family for hours! Highly Recommend.
