After moving to the area at the end of 2020 I had been shopping around for a new hairstylist. Every few months I’d work up to courage (& length) to try another stylist. Results VARIED. Lol, from uncomfortable, to horrific, my experiences were not something I’d write in a review. Then I bleached my hair and it broke off. If you didn’t gasp, you should have. It looked insane. I was shopping at Ulta, saw the salon, and thought “why not? My hair can’t get worse than this”. I made an appointment with a stylist available that week, Crystal. Here’s how it went: she listened amazingly to my tale of woe (& whoa), she got what I was saying about what cut I thought would work with my stupid broken hair, she made it happen, all while being very chill and pleasant. So I went back with 4 inches of roots today for highlights. SHE’S WORKING MIRACLES FOLKS. My hair is now a short fun blonde style I can grow out. And I plan on sticking with Crystal for that. If you are in the market for a new stylist, Crystal at Ulta is very very skilled. She’s a really likable person, good vibe. She knows what she’s doing. *I’m not posting pics because I don’t have a before pic so you wouldn’t know what she was working with. It wouldn’t be fair to her talents.

I was having a difficult time putting in an online/ curbside pick up order (normally, I'd go in the store, but in recovering from an accident). The customer service line was unhelpful. I called the store, hopeful someone would be able to help. I was fortunate to reach Paige. She spent well over a half hour on the phone with me, trying to investigate the issue I was having. It went well beyond her duties, but she was the only person who seemed willing to help. She came up with a few different solutions when it became apparent the app/ website would not cooperate. In the end, she personally shopped my order and came to my vehicle and helped me make the actual transaction, so I didn't have to come in. I had never had a good experience at the Frederick store, but I will happily continue to give them my business because of her. Thank you Paige! Your professionalism and overall kindness deserves to be rewarded.

DO NOT go here for hair coloring. Horrible job. Girl left black dye all over my daughter's forehead, neck and pretty much everywhere. 3 days before prom and said "it's unavoidable with black color". That is ridiculous for a professional stylist to do and say. Outrageous price for a job we could have done better at home. UPDATE returned to store today and things were made right. Thanks to the Salon Manager and Store Manager.

I called two hours before coming to the store and was assured an item was there and plenty was in stock. I make the hour drive to get the item, and I’m met with a rude employee who was trying to sell me on a version I didn’t want nor ask for. She kept saying they didn’t have any before checking. I told her no thank you for the other item, and then she made a snarky, unnecessary comment: you won’t find it anywhere else. Will never go back. Don’t work in customer service if you don’t know how to help or treat people with respect.

I don’t go out of my way to leave reviews but I am upset this afternoon. I had a brow appointment today booked with Olivia S. I was traveling over an hour to get to this location because I have an event this weekend and desperately needed brows done but no other Ulta had an appointment. I went online on Wednesday and booked my appointment. 10 minutes later I get a call from Olivia S. whom my appointment is booked with and the way she handled the call was very odd. She was questioning if I was still going to make it and I told her I booked it 10 minutes ago so of course I would and the way she was being pushy it was as if she wanted me to cancel it. Then right before I leave to make my hour commute, the salon calls and said Olivia has to cancel. Things happen, it’s life, I get it. But I could’ve called that she was going to cancel with how she treated me over the phone and acted like she wanted me to cancel. Really disappointed!
