I really wish I could remember the name of the person I spoke with when I called, because she was amazing! My GSD puppy came inside COVERED with ticks. I was alone, and frazzled and had no idea what to do— so I called them. Even though my puppy was not a patient in their systems, the person who answered the phone took the time to: 1- Calm me down, and speak with me kindly. 2- Check with their vet on the best course of action 3- Provided ample advice and answered numerous questions so that I was best informed on how to handle the current situation. 4- Provide further advice on how to prevent repeating the same situation I also must add that I called them right as they were closing and she was still so sweet and so patient. They were much more helpful, patient and caring than my puppies’ actual vet office and for that reason I had to leave a review. Thank you so much for your kindness and guidance in my panicked state. I couldn’t of asked for anything more!

Have insurance thru Banfield for my dog. Called yesterday looking for an appointment for him as he has a bad ear infection. Asked if they could squeeze him in like they have before. No was the definitive answer and they couldn't get him in until next Friday. I was told to call another Banfield. I called the Millbury. I was told the same. I called northborough which I was told had three vets available and was told the same. What is the use of having Banfield insurance if you can't get into any of their facilities to have your animal looked at. I don't understand how any of the facilities are able to remain open when they have only one vet and maybe one that and a tech at best. I think that we need to rethink our insurance plans and also maybe make a call to their corporate office very disappointed I never had that problem she was a true vet I have Dr Rose now and I'm totally dissatisfied

Wasn't there for the hospital however our experience was absolutely great!!! We are frequent flyers at the store for our Leopard gecko and fish. There hasn't been a time we have gone in there and left unhappy. Not only do we always find what we are looking for but the customer service is absolutely amazing!! Lisa has helped us every single time with all questions we have and also some real helpful advice. She's my sons go to person when we enter. I would recommend this store to any and all pet lovers!! Keep up the good work your all rockstars!!! 🌟🌟🌟

I am incredibly upset and disappointed with my experience at Banfield. My dog had a broken dew claw and I asked my father to bring him in to have it trimmed back. It was what I thought would be a simple visit for a nail trim. This visit ended up costing $500! For some reason this visit included more than a nail trim but two costly blood panels. All this was completely unnecessary but I figured they trimmed his crooked nail and it wouldn’t irritate him. Only, they didn’t! Coming home from work I looked at the nail and it was untrimmed, broken and clearly uncomfortable. After calling to confirm, they said that they didn’t trim it because they didn’t want to make it worse. My dog was obsessively licking at his paw for the past week, once it was trimmed, he has not acknowledged it once. I would say leaving it alone “made it worse”. They did not do the one thing that was needed and caused my dog to be in discomfort for a week until we brought him to another vet. But I am mostly disgusted with how they made my father feel. My father took our dog to the vet as a favor to me. He signed off on these procedures because he knows how much my dog means to me and was told these were necessary. My dad is an older man and has never taken a pet to the vet before. This office is no better than a mechanic taking advantage of a young girl coming in for an oil change and being upselling ridiculous add-ons. He couldn’t tell that he was being taken advantage and no one should be made to feel that way.

This place is just an absolute nightmare. The staff is incredibly unfriendly and lazy, and this location is pure chaos. One tech had me weigh my dog and shout the weight to her as she sat by the desk - she didn’t even both getting up to check his weight; I could’ve said anything and she would’ve taken it. My dog needed a script for Trazodone because they refuse to see him without it (really messed up if you ask me) and I called 2 weeks prior to his appointment for it. I was told they will fill it and call me so I can pick it up - to no one’s surprise, I never received a call. I followed up multiple times via phone and they’ve been closed because of staffing. Jill, the tech I spoke to on the phone, completely lied and pinned it on me, saying they’ve been trying to reach me the days leading up to my dog’s appointment (they weren’t even working so how were they reaching out to me leading up to his appointment??). I am glued to my phone for work and never miss a phone call. If I do miss a call, it’s responded to almost immediately. She then said because I couldn’t pick up the script LAST MINUTE that they need to cancel the appointment I made over 2 months ago. This place doesn’t value their patients and doesn’t even attempt to create a safe and calming environment for pets that are anxious about vet visits. I dread coming here for appointments because of how chaotic it always is and how poorly they treat nervous pets. After being lied to, I finally decided I need to cut ties with this awful place and am moving to a different vet. It’s unbelievable how this place continues to stay afloat with how it’s currently operating. Something needs to be done with this place because it is truly hell on earth.

I've never had a bad visit up at Banfield in Bellingham. Everyone is very friendly and communicates well during the appointment process and the Doctors always call quickly to go over any details that may be necessary. They spayed my cat, Fenway 8yrs ago and they neutered my puggle, Cooper last year. I'd recommend them to anyone!

I brought my 9 month old GSD puppy in for a check up today, first time at this place. Absolutely horrible experience. He barked once, and the (clearly inexperienced) vet techs were terrified, bringing out one muzzle after another and making me give my poor dog even MORE anxiety by trying on different muzzles. Made me answer a whole bunch of questions then sent me away and said the vet wouldn’t see my dog today!! The vet wouldn’t even come out to speak to me herself. At the end, the vet tech had the nerve to tell me she wouldn’t charge me for the visit, they refused to see my dog so why on earth would I be charged!!! I wouldn’t go back if you paid me, stay far away from this place.

We brought our dog in a to have a bump looked at and when it did not go away, we decided to have a cytology done. During the whole process, we were only able to see/talk to the techs and not the vet. We trusted that we had communicated our concerns, verbally, through paper forms and in pictures. After picking up our dog we were concerned that the wrong area was tested. When the hospital called to give results, we questioned the location of the test and confirmed it was not correct. We went back and forth on the phone with them before they told us to come in. When we came in to the hospital the vet refused to come talk to us and instead talked back and forth with one of the techs. Obviously nothing was resolved and they offered to test the “new” spot for $200 and the second spot again for a small discount. After arguing that this was not fair, they insinuated that we should be grateful they did their job and found this other spot (that came back clean... ) but I’m confused if they were doing their job how did they miss the one we were concerned about! We left and brought our dog to a new vet, who tested the spot we were concerned about and found cancerous cells. If we trusted the vets at Bellingham about the spot they were concerned in, we would be in serious trouble. Will never go back.

UPDATE: To add insult to injury, after the 4 week ordeal of having a brand new puppy very sick, I called Banfield and asked for a review of the medical costs I incurred. After I sought a second opinion at a different Banfield location, I had to purchase more medicine and have x-rays done. The Bellingham practice manager, Allie, called me and questioned why I had not brought my dog in sooner to their location, I explained to her that I did not trust them to take care of my dog so I had to wait for an appointment at a different location. She implied that it was my fault that my dog stayed sick, she also told me that I had made up the incorrect dosage "in my head". She finished the conversation by telling me that if I did not "want to work with her", she would close my claim. This statement is a threat and retaliatory. All of this behavior just solidifies that Banfield does not care about the well-being of any animal and truly does not care about any concerned consumer. Allie didn't even take the time to wait to speak to the staff at the Newton location to find out why x-rays needed to be done and why more medicine needed to be prescribed, she chose to "leave a voicemail" and call me to be combative and disrespectful. This common practice of blaming the customer when their location was negligent is deplorable. Although, the Banfield in Newton was lovely and knowledgeable, it is quite concerning and disheartening that the level of customer service is so different from location to location, I can't help but decide to switch providers if this is the standard of treatment that is acceptable to them. Worst experience of mine and my puppy's life. I took my brand new puppy to the Banfield location in Bellingham because they had availability sooner than other locations. Dr. Florence Rose checked out my puppy originally and everything seemed to be fine until my puppy developed a cough. I brought him back in to be checked and was told I would have to leave him for an entire day, have costly x-rays done and that the doctor would check him out in-between other patients. I am quite certain that Dr. Rose did not even take my puppy out of the kennel to do a physical examination. She called me and left me a voicemail saying she did not know what was wrong with him, and he didn't cough in her presence. She prescribed him antibiotics and a cough suppressant. It is now almost two weeks later and my puppy's cough was not getting any better. I decided to seek a second opinion at the Banfield location in Newton. The great veterinarian called me and answered all of my questions, as well as explained the physical examination he had conducted. He also prescribed my puppy antibiotics and the dosage he prescribed was 3 TIMES the dosage Dr. Rose had prescribed. I have now come to find out that Dr. Rose purposely under prescribed medicine to my puppy in hopes of keeping him sick so that she and the Banfield staff could pressure me into having costly x-rays done. Dr. Rose is a negligent provider, she risked the health of my brand new puppy for her monetary gain. I am appalled and disgusted that I even have to write this review. I never in a million years thought that someone you are supposed to trust would blindly disregard the health of a living being.
