I came here for several pixie cuts. The cut was ok, but not exactly what I wAnted (I thought maybe it was my hair type? It was my first pixie cut). The haircutter NEVER communicated with me while cutting my hair and it usually ended up too short for my liking. Well, one time I wanted to switch it up and I asked if we can shave a very small portion at the bottom of my neck and I showed a picture for reference. She begins the cut by shaving the ENTIRE BACK OF MY HEAD without a guard. I almost immediately go into panic and tell her it feels like she just shaved WAYYYY too much. She assures me it will even out. She turns me around to see the cut at the end and I am speechless in the worst way. I will not even post the pic of the cut because it was traumatizing, ugly, and humiliating. She told me it looked “great” and it would grow out in 3 days. I went home and cried to everyone i knew and quickly asked for a refund. I never understood women crying over a haircut until that day. I didn’t leave a bad review because I didn’t want to think about this place or that awful stylist (who has 17 years experience). It took 4-5 months to grow out and reblend and this was during winter smh I now see Ashley at Chop Tops and she has only been doing this 1-2 years and she SLAYS my pixie cut. If you want a short hair cut I highly recommend you avoid this place. Haircutters need to know their competencies and not just take everyone’s money. Service: Haircut

The salon itself is clean and comfortable. I was with Emily for a haircut and brow wax. She was very friendly and eager, but I felt like she didn’t hear or understand the majority of what I was asking her to do. At the risk of things going shorter ... and shorter ... I gave up on trying to make it work, and left. I was there for quite a long time while she tried to sort out what I was asking for, but ultimately ended up giving me the exact cut and brows I asked NOT to have. I spent almost $80, then went home and cried about how stupid I’m going to look at the party this weekend with my triangle hair and asymmetrical eyebrows. 😕

Moved to Kansas City a months ago and was badly in need of a haircut. I'm always super nervous about letting someone new touch my hair. On top of that my friends had spent the better part of a morning convincing me to get bangs. I made an appointment with Emily and she was fantastic! Much like everyone else here, she was extremely friendly. I let her take a few inches off my hair and give me some shaggy eyebrow length bangs. She even styled it in some beach waves for me. I left the salon feeling so good about the way my hair looked. It was a bonus coming home to my boyfriends jaw dropping at the new bangs.

The space is so great, and Emily did an amazing job with my hair. She looked at what I wanted, and then talked me through any adjustments she suggested based on my hair and the way it naturally lays. With her adjustments I got the best bangs cut I've ever had! Very glad I tried Salon Ado out.

Huge bonus is she is super easy to talk with but will also respect your space if you dont feel like chatting. Sad I am moving away from KC and have to find a new stylist. I have been to Salon Ado twice and visited different stylists each time. Both times they did exactly what I asked for, if not a better job than I imagined. I have seen Caitlyn and Emily. This is the only salon is Kansas City I have returned to after my first appointment. Not only was my hair cut and color (both times) high quality, but the atmosphere is great too. All the stylists are kind and talkative, and the inside is always decorated chic and beautiful. I moved to Kansas City from Chicago area a few years ago, and since I moved to KC, I have had the hardest time finding a good salon that I ended up just setting my hair appointments solely at my salon at Chicago whenever I traveled to visit family. I am very happy I found salon Ado and will no longer have to travel far for a hair appointment! Highly recommend!
