One of the things that attracts me to West Manchester are the amount of locally owned businesses. Families have been here for generations, as the city around them has changed. The chains don’t really operate north of Granite Street. I’ve taken my car to chains my whole life, and that’s a mistake. They will nickel and dime you and flag things that may not need much work. It’s a money game. Bob and Sons Automotive is not a chain. They’re cut from the same cloth a lot of the West Side businesses are: If you do good work, people will come through no matter what. These folks care about doing a good job and being transparent about it. You’ll notice there’s no Napa logo or anything that would indicate there are corporate interests pushing products or financial benchmarks. When getting even something as simple as an oil change and inspections, Bob and Sons will give you a full report of your car’s health that is more detailed than a Steinbeck book. They will tell you what is required to pass inspection, and what isn’t, and they won’t pressure you to make a financial decision you can’t make. You will drive away knowing everything you need to know about your car and that everything you paid for was well worth it. You do pay a premium going to the little guys, but it’s not much more than what VIP and the like would charge, and the peace of mind knowing that the folks at Bob and Son’s are invested in doing the job right. I am blown away by what an amazing job they did on my vehicle!! The customer service is outstanding! Working with Ian he had incredible patience with me I had to cancel unexpectedly, still so courteous and kind. Had my vehicle fully inspected here for a customer who was interested in purchasing. Drove 2 hours in total to have the vehicle brought here. Was told by the interested customer that they quoted $2,000+ for repairs. I had it brought to Toyota and they quoted $1,289 for the same repairs. Bob and Sons automotive wouldn’t even let me get a copy of the vehicle inspection report so I could see what made up the sum of that $2000+. Don’t bring your car here!!! Service: Vehicle Inspection

I have been going to Bob and Son's since I moved to NH. I trust them to a through job and that is what they have delivered time and again. I brought in a used vehicle I was hoping to buy for a Pre-purchase Inspection and turns out the seller was trying to deceive me by withholding information that would have cost me at least $1250. Its a smaller shop with a very friendly front desk. Pros: Honest, quality diagnostic work, (really liked the system they have worked out,) solid repairs. Cons: Expensive. (Still gave them 5 stars though) First shop I've been to in manch that is actually honest and that means more than it ever has, especially nowadays. Service: Engine repair

I have taken multiple family vehicles to this location over the last 10+ years. They always provide me with a very detailed overview of what the car was taken in for…along with areas that might need // or do need attention. I only purchase used vehicles, so the preventive maintenance in collaboration with general maintenance have kept my vehicles running long past my expectation. Plus the “loaner vehicle” that they provide as bonus feature has been a life-saver. Thank you to Ian, Robert, and the whole Bob and Son’s team for creating a trustworthy shop where I always know the work will be done very well in an a very time efficient window. First of all, the customer service is amazing. So, in this industry, that's already a huge plus right out of the gates. Trust me, I've had a lot of experience working in CS - They bring that good Top Shelf stuff. I'm a relatively new customer at Bob & Sons, but they seem committed to doing a thorough job and giving you all of the information you need, including a detailed online report. They flagged the immediate issues, with pictures, and made suggestions for other routine maintenance. My old Jeep needed a lot of TLC, and they delivered. I really can't say enough good things about this place. Bob & Sons is exactly the kind of mechanic you hope for but never find. They are personable and incredibly experienced. If you have a used car and you want to know exactly what is wrong with it - these guys are truly the best. Their rates are fair but more than anything they are looking out for you first - they found issues that my old mechanic had caused and advised me on selling the vehicle. I cannot thank them enough. I am not sure where all the 5 stars and high ratings are coming from but I will share my experience as of today. I relied heavily on these ratings to help me make a decision as I am new to the area. I brought my 2012 Toyota Camry in for some basic routine maintenance today. I knew I needed an oil change and tires rotated. I dropped my vehicle off at 10 am on 2/2/2022. Rob had stated they would do a multi-point inspection. This sounded pretty standard as many places do this. However, after reviewing the inspection I was a little suspicious as having new spark plugs, new brake fluid, and other items were recommended to be changed. I hadn't had any problems with the vehicle, just needed the oil and tires rotated was all. I called Bob & Sons back and we went over the report and Rob was stating that $562.00 worth of work was recommended and/or should be done sooner than later, a portion of that cost he recommended doing a state inspection even though I don't need this until April. Rob stated the car would pass inspection as is, so why would you recommend the other work??.I've been driving this vehicle for over 2 years, and I just didn't agree with this, and I felt it was an up sell because I was a new customer. After all was said and done, I made the decision to do the oil change, tire rotation and to replace the filters that clearly needed to be replaced (Engine and Air Filter). The total cost was $370.00, 198 of that was all in labor. I don't understand how or why the labor was that expensive considering this type of work should have only take about 1.5 hrs to 2 hours max. Was I charged extra for allowing them to keep the vehicle all day? Any way, the main purpose of this post is for new customers to be aware they can find better pricing elsewhere for routine car maintenance. If you are someone that likes to watch the work being done or sit and wait, you cannot do this here. Please don't make the mistake I made today, I learned a valuable lesson.
