Terrible customer service & Unprofessional behavior! Today 8/17/23 at 11 AM I called to inquire about services and pricing of Branchurg Animal hospital has to offer. I was considering may be to change our veterinarian and asked about dental cleaning prices. The lady who picked up the phone was not helpful at all, kept interrupting me and spoke over me. I had to ask her twice to stop and please listen to what i was trying to acomplish. She was insisting "she is just a receptionist " and unable to provide any pricing even in general. I then ask her to connect me with someone who can answer my questions. She was very rude and toled me there is no one there to talk to me and all she can do is to tell me again that I need to come in snd pay for a visit ( she wouldn't say how much ) just to ask any other price related questions. At that point I asked for her name and was toled : " You don't get to have this info" and then she hanged up. As a person who spend 28 years working with general public, I am very confident that a person like this should not be allowed to work with people and isspecially be the face of the business! Not only she was not helpful, she was not knowledgeable, rude and extremely unprofessional! I don't know how are the doctors in this office but I not sure I will bring my business there since I am definitely not ok with being treated like this!

I don't write negative reviews for small businesses, but I would not want anyone to have an experience similar to ours. My dog had been a long time patient at Branchburg Animal Hospital. For an extended time period we had brought our dog to be treated over what they were saying was an eye infection. Branchburg Animal Hospital continued to back their diagnosis several times over that period. Concurrently, we were given a higher dosage of a medication than we should have had for another issue he was having. They prescribed us a dosage for a large dog while our dog was barely 20lbs. When I called to discuss the dosage, I was met with silence from Dr. Derfuss. At least a full week later I had finally heard back from Dr. Derfuss. Her response was less than desired and lacked any empathy toward our dog and did not take accountability of her and the offices mistake. Dr. Derfuss asked me what I wanted her to do. I responded with I think it would be fair to have her look at my dog to ensure everything was fine due to their mistake. It was at this point Dr. Derfuss told me I could pay for him to be seen or they wouldn't take a look at him. That was the final straw from the lack of respect toward myself and my dog, in which I have I trusted them to take care of. My dog didn’t matter to them but my money did. After finding a new Vet, we learned the true reason my dogs eyes had been watering and it wasn’t because of an infection as Dr. Derfuss and her office had continually relayed. This was in fact a known sign of congestive heart failure. Due to Dr. Derfuss’s refusal to care for my dog and disgustingly wrong diagnosis, precious time was wasted that could have prevented or delayed the onset of his congestive heart failure. I would also like to add that there were several times we had referenced information that Dr. Derfuss had given us at previous appointments that we had made made notes of, but she would then say that the information wasn’t written in his records. There was a definite lack of accurate record keeping. For this reason, I would never trust Dr. Derfuss or her practice with another animal. 0 out of 5 stars.

Dr Derfuss is very caring. She's knowledgeable in a wide range of treatments from Western medicine to Chinese herbal medicine and acupuncture. She listens to my concerns and she understands my needs as well as my animals needs. In other words she deals with my anxiety as much as my pets'! She seems to have an intuitive sense with the animals as to what's going on with them. I've already told her she's never allowed to retire.

Try your best not to have to bring your pet here. I brought my dog here twice because he was having trouble walking. They did blood and urine work on him and discovered a bacterial infection. However, they failed to address his inability to walk and gave me 4 painkillers at 5 dollars a pill. After spending over $1100 dollars with them they expected me to return with my dog and pay for a third visit so they can address the lameness in his back legs. I refused. There is a much better vet down 22 West in Lambertville she addressed all the issues with my dog. She was super friendly and even gave my a dog laser therapy treatment for free. The same pain medication I received at this Branchburg Animal Hospital I got for under HALF the cost.

My dear friends dog had 4-5 months of complete misery due to a missed diagnosis of sarcoptic mange. This was only caught after it had gotten so bad to the point when their dog required emergency care and an extensive amount of additional (costly) treatment. This ultimately prompted their decision to switch vet offices and she has already received the high quality care in less than 1 week that she has needed for the past 5 months. Disappointment and heart break would be severe understatements.

The staff was very friendly, and Dr. Stack was great! He was so good with my fur baby and definitely knew his stuff! I had barely had to wait to see him as well. Definitely will be back!

While my dog had been cared for by Dr. Derfuss for many years, the recent experience with a mis diagnosis for sarcoptic mange resulted in months of suffering for my dog. Due to the delay in an accurate diagnosis, my dog contracted a secondary yeast infection which has continued to require ongoing treatment with steroids and antibiotics. Important to note is that my dog was being treated for allergies and even after i took to my dog to Animerge and received the diagnosis of sarcoptic mange - Dr. Derfuss indicated my dog could not get sarcoptic mange because she lived in a yard that was fenced in. Very poor animal treatment that created months of suffering for my fur baby. Animerge in Raritan saved my dogs life.

The vet staff is so great. We feed our pups raw and they are not judgemental and support our decision. They offer opinions but listen to your thoughts and concerns about your pets which is so refreshing. We travel about half an hour just to come here. Highly recommended!

My husband and I have been taking our German Shepherds to Dr. Derfuss for many years. She is extremely caring and compassionate. She not only practices traditional medicine but holistic too. Our "girls" actually loved when they went to the vet! We highly recommend Branchburg Animal Hospital!
