I HATE giving bad or mediocre reviews but I have to. From the appearance it looked great, people lined up outside to get in. Well it was cafeteria style which is ok BUT the fish and hush puppies had some kind of weird taste. Idk if it's the oil or what. The tea was so sweet it was like drinking syrup. My co-worker said the same. Sorry...

Well, well, well. Another good one. This is definitely a hidden Gem. Very good tasting southern style food. I love the fact that there is a limited selection for the main course and they have definitely perfected it. I would definitely recommend, if you're driving thru the Butner area. Ask Somebody !?!?!?...

Food is decent and prices are not bad at all. The restaurant could be a little more updated though. Has an old smell when you first walk through the door but them seem to be clean from what I can see.

We needed to have our daughters’ sweet 16 birthday celebration catered & Home Plate saved the day! Our guests kept talking about how yummy the food was throughout the whole event. The experience was wonderful from start to finish & James at the Butner location is top notch. Very friendly, helpful, & went above & beyond to make sure we were taken care of. The price was very reasonable compared to other catering services & the food was great. What more can you ask for?..Thank you Home Plate!

Absolutely love Home Plate!!! I was a faithful follower of the one on Holloway St and when I came to Butner and saw this location I thought I'd give it a try and boy are they consistent with their quality. Highly recommend to anyone who enjoys a good plate of southern cooking.

We visit this restaurant several times a year. (6-8).. always clean, very friendly. Standard specials each day. Hot & ready for quick to eat and takeout fast. They close early at 7:00 so not always convenient especially in the warmer months. But definitely recommend if you like simple southern home style plate foods.

Also like the Durham location but much more parking and seating here. Prices are almost as good as fast food prices but this is home cooked comfort food that is really good. Have had fried chicken, fried fish, country style steak, pork BBQ ribs (pieces). All were very good. Biggest problem is deciding on what to get as all are very good. Good sized portions and great value. Can't wait to go again
