I work in Charlotte about one week each month, and I bought a membership at this gym to use when I’m there because I love it so much. They have everything I need (I’m an advanced lifter and competitive bodybuilder), and it’s never so crowded you can’t get on the equipment. The staff is so nice. I always look forward to working out here. It’s one of my favorite gyms, and I work out in gyms all over the country.

I have been going no to this gym for about 3 months. New to the city of Charlotte, originally from New York. Weights are clean and well maintained, locker rooms are awesome with steam room, sauna, showers (all are always clean). Front desk people are super friendly and very conversational. Right in heart of CLT, great (healthy) food options near by like poke, Chopt and chipotle. Place is awesome! The pool at the CAC is also the place to be on college and NFL Gameday! The perks at sign up are also unbeatable!

This is a really solid gym, very clean and in the center of the city! I wish it were open a little later on the weekends and doesn’t have a ton of equipment so sometimes machines you want to use are taken during busy times. If you have to drive the parking only gets validated for two hours in the garage which is a little annoying if you want to have a longer workout (you can move your car and come back in but that’s also a hassle). Staff is friendly and the perks are cool.

I moved here from Chicago in search of a true Health Club in the Charlotte Uptown are and found The Charlotte Athletic Club! Wonderful gym vibe with the health club amenities! My personal trainer Cain is a true professional who understood my goals , created a plan to get there and I’m thrilled about my results !!!

I’ve only been a member for a month but so far here are my pros and cons Pros: - Deep stretch class is amazing, i felt so great after that class and the instructor was great - I’ve taken a few of the classes, some are better than others but all of the instructors are great! Great energy, great encouragement - fairly empty, even at busy times. You can usually always find your own spot and get weights - the nutrition assessment was very great - I haven’t had any issues with any machines at all, Cons - lockers is an additional cost on top of membership, or you grab one of the few empty ones in the way back - lockers are so so tiny anyways, not much you can fit in them, my gym bag cannot fit in them at all so defeats the purposes - when you become a member there’s a few different free perks you get like nutrition assessment, free massage, etc. i personally had to go around asking how to get those opportunities instead of them reaching out to me first which for the price of this gym, I’d expect them to be more on top of it - when i asked where the pool was, front desk responded “that’s on is pool”….which is zero percent helpful. Took a full 5 minute conversation to learn you are supposed to get a day pass from CAC front desk, bring it over to Omni front desk and then they’ll give you access to go upstairs. You also have to leave your bag in CAC locker room. Front desk should know this.

Been frequenting this establishment for the past 17 years whenever I come to town. Went in for a day pass and to consider joining the club. However upon arrival I noticed that the televisions were all out. Additionally at the end of our work out we went to use the steam room and it was also unavailable as it was out. When we were leaving went to the front desk to retrieve our identification and let the people working there know the situation. However the girl at the desk was not only obnoxious she was less than helpful and certainly less than personable. Anyone wishing to join your Health club where they feel at home or they feel like they want to come multiple times to see the same people and have a great workout should certainly avoid this establishment in the event this woman is working the front desk .

Charlotte Athletic Club is a great upscale gym in the heart of uptown. Located in the Overstreet mall, it’s a great location to workout before or after work, for bankers like myself. It has everything I need, free weights, machines, cables, basketball, and various classes with trainers.

Love CAC! The facilities and location are great. All of the employees are extremely friendly and helpful. I love the group classes, and although I'm not a morning person, I look forward to them every day. I arrive excited and leave in a great mood.

I have been working out at CAC since 2015 when I moved to Charlotte and it's been a great experience working out at the club. It is definitely the best gym in Charlotte as it suits all your needs. The staff, trainers and amenities are terrific. If you have a locker, you can take the advantage of laundry so you don't have to be worried about your work out clothes at all which is a blessing. Steam and sauna is like an icing on the cake. I would definitely recommend checking this place out in Charlotte.

I sent an email weeks ago trying to cancel my membership (because they don’t have any option for canceling on their website or app) and just today was I given a managers email, who still charged my account even though I haven’t been in over a month. His explanation was that they needed 30 days for a cancellation request, even though this was never mentioned when I signed up, which was entirely verbal. I understand you’re probably strapped for cash, but don’t screw people over because of your mismanagement of your finances and lack of features online.
