Bill Black Chevrolet originated in 1955 as Black Cadillac Olds under the ownership of Bill Black II. The dealership was located on East Market Street in the heart of downtown Greensboro. In September of 1966, the dealership moved to its current location of 601 East Bessemer Avenue at the intersection of Yanceyville Street. Bill Black III became dealer principal in December of 1986. The front part of the dealership was excellent in helping me buy my new Equinox. I was hoping to give them 5 stars in this review but when I came back the next day to pick up the car it had not been detailed and the only thing it looks like they did was throw away the paper in the floor. If they did detail the car....then they need some new instruction on the proper way to detail a car. Mine was not.

Honestly, not sure why this dealership doesn't have 5 stars. BUT, our experience here was beyond amazing. We live 2 hrs way, and I found the vehicle I've been wanting for a while now and just purchased it this last Saturday. The process was easy from the moment I showed I had interest towards the vehicle, till the moment I drove out with it. No one in this dealership is pushy either which is a plus, always. Amin G., was our sales person and we were beyond happy with his knowledge and how caring and friendly he was towards us. Amin and the whole team made this process beyond easy and stress free. We were there roughly 3 hours. Again, beyond happy with the service we received & beyond happy as well with my new Trailblazer. I will definitely recommend people here.

James and Russ were excellent to deal with. I went to 12 dealerships. Bill Black was one of just a few who was willing to order a vehicle and didn’t demand that a bunch of dealer options be installed AND at an absurd cost. The process to order was transparent and there were no surprises. This is an honest group of people. I’ve already recommended them to friends. Bill black was 25 minutes away but I would have traveled an hour to get this kind of service. Someday when I need another car, I’ll definitely come back. I hope the two of them are still working there.

I have been here many times and usually get good service. They fix vehicles well. That is not the reasoning for my low review. Today, 7/12/22 I was picking up a vehicle and there was a car that a Bill Black associate had left in a place that was blocking me from leaving. Went to go ask them to move it, the associate, a short, Hispanic man, came out and said "oh you can get out. If you can drive, you can get it out." And said it in an almost insulting way. The car was pulled directly in front and I was driving a Chevy Colorado truck and would not want to risk hitting anyone's car. My service was fine. The service advisor was fine, but this gentleman left a bad taste in my mouth. He did not say this in a joking way and it offended the other people I was with also. So as far as the servicing of my vehicle, this establishment is fine. But that was not called for.

I love Bill Black's employees they are pretty friendly. The waiting area is a nice and open space. I guess the only thing is when you first pull in there are people there, but no one greets you. I had to get out and approach someone instead of the other way around. Other than that it's a good place for any and every one

Update: The service manager requested for me to contact him in regards to the incident that occurred at the dealership. I contacted him, thinking that he was looking for a resolve, however it was the complete opposite. I'm still confused of why he wanted me to contact him, I guess because I provided a negative review. The manager was no better than his employee, he stood behind the employees behavior and insisted he was correct. He informed me that his employee knew about warranties and I stated that if he knew that I was not supposed to be paying for the service unless the warranty company did not pay why did he take my money for the diagnostic testing of the car. I asked him why had his advisor not contacted Endurance to see if the claim would be covered, because the advisor did none of this. He stated there must have been a misunderstanding. I stated so your service advisor will take monies from people when they know that it is a possibility that the customer does not have to pay? I was shocked because even though I asked him this he continued to stand behind this behavior. I am disgusted beyond disgusted, because I have always thought this was good company to take your car to, however, I was mistaken. After, being on the phone with the manager and him insisting that I was wrong I asked what was the resolve to this issue and he stated its best you take your car somewhere else, in which I was, but no resolve. His point of reaching out to me was to let me know I was wrong. I contacted my warranty and they said no one had contacted them and that I am not responsible for any money and that my coverage would have paid for everything. Once again I will never go to a Bill Black Nothing!!! It was not the cost, it was the behavior and the acceptance of the behavior from upper management. I realize nothing is free in life, but to give your money away to people who behave this way towards their customers is out of order and that I will not do. Lesson learned.

I an looking for a place that has good customer service and that inspects the vehicle thoroughly if a 27 point is included and from what I understand it is with my oil change and rotation. The 1st thing I don't like is when you pull in 10 people are standing around talking and no one comes to greet you. I am not used to that. At Flow and my Toyota dealership they come and greet you. At your dealership no one does anything not even wave. Service is very slow and oil change takes almost 2 hrs everytime. I am definitely not impressed. Wes seems to be a stand up guy. He has helped both times I have been there. I have heard Park Chevy has good service so that's my next place to try.
