This place is so much fun! The cookies were perfect and the young Lady who waited on us , was very sweet! I would definitely go back!

Our son was doing his Appalachian State University orientation & we explored. Someone said, “check out Todd!” We took the drive through rolling landscapes, beautiful rural roads that led us to this tiny, historical spot. Todd Mercantile has some interesting blend of old and new items & a bakery too! There was a sweet young lady running this tiny, charming store. The next time you are near Boone, take the drive. It’s definitely an adventure. Kick back and enjoy some coffee and treats. Nearby there appeared to be a kayak rental place and someone said there is a restaurant. Go explore!

Sourdough bread, sugar cookies, chocolate chip cookies, and the brownie were all great. It was fun to look around the store. They had local crafts, art, baked goods, and vintage clothes. The staff was awesome to talk to and helpful.

Great molasses cookies! Scones are good, brownies very good too. Adorable old store with nice locals. Worth the stop for sure.

Fun little shop with a wonderful bakery! We stopped in specifically for the cinnamon rolls and coffee and although there are outdoor tables at the store, we took our snacks over to the little park across the way (less than 100 feet)

Best little country store in North Carolina. Bakery items are delicious. Scones make you smile in the morning they are so good. The apple walnut cake is the very best I’ve ever had (extra moist). And I could go on. Everything in the bakery is simply wonderful. Definitely a stop when in the Boone/Blowing Rock area.

Loved stopping through this little town and the mercantile made it even more worth it! We enjoyed walking around the shop but the pimento cheese Todd pockets and masses cookies are really what sold us! Make sure to take home a loaf of their rosemary bread too! It made great avocado toast all of the following week. Honestly, on our way to the cabin I had no idea this was here and the owner waved at me as we drove in and we knew we had to circle back on our way out to see what it was all about. Such a great decision! Thanks for the hospitality!

Wonderful place. Great selection gift items many with woodsy and crafty themes. Also a great selection tasty pastries. You just can't go wrong by going here.

WOW! Hands down the best gluten free cake, brownie and cinnamon roll I have ever had!! The store portion could use some updating and arranging but has huge potential. Todd has always been a bit sleepy when compared to surronding areas like West Jefferson, Boone, Blowing Rock, and Banner Elk, but is a neat little corner of the world. The old general store is currently closed and for sale, so the Mercantile is really the only scene. I would encourage more local craft makers and artists to display items at the store and more folks to come relax along the river or on the front porch at the Mercantile. A young man was playing guitar while an older woman sang when we were by there. If for no other reason, go for the baked goods...I have been all over the world, and even before going gluten free, these goodies are some of the best! The chocolate torte with chocolate icing and chocolate brownie were my faves, followed by the cinnamon roll and chocolate chip cookie. I didn't try anything else this time, but will be back, and will stock up! I need these recipies! Thank you to the owner for creating such delishisness and caring for those with food sensitivites! They even had some egg free items!
