They didn't charge the diagnostic fee but the estimate was too expensive for a simple exhaust gasket. They said I needed a catalytic converter and it would cost $2300.00, I got it repaired for $180.00 now ain't that something.

HOW IS THIS BUSINESS RATED SO HIGH OVERALL ON HERE BUT IT'S CONSIDERABLY LOWER ON YELP?! HMM...wish I would have seen the Yelp reviews instead of Google's reviews before going to this store. AVOID THIS MIDAS STORE LOCATION!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I already put my detailed horrible experience with this store location and Shawn/store owner on my Yelp review today. To summarize, I spoke with Shawn on 2/18/22 and explained our catalytic converter was cut off/stolen and the insurance situation. He agreed and we had the car towed there on 2/19/22 (car wasn't drivable). Shawn called us and was trying to get us to fix the car without replacing the oxygen sensors on it (check engine light would be on and car would run rough). We said no to that it was agreed he would contact our insurance adjuster with two quotes: one to fix it with original parts and one to fix it with universal parts. Shawn then called me two days later saying the insurance adjuster wouldn't pay any more and claim over a year old -- untrue. I found out that he told the insurance adjuster a way lower amount than we talked about -- which is why we'd have to pay as we'd already received some money from the insurance company. Shawn admitted he told the adjuster the lower amount. When I asked Shawn for a written estimate so I could deal with the insurance company myself, he raised his voice and said no he wasn't going to spend any more time on this, he'd already wasted enough time on it -- in a very rude/unprofessional manner. NO insurance company is going to deal with a verbal quote, they need a written estimate. This was a red flag according to my agent's office. I realized that Shawn didn't want to deal with insurance and was basically playing games trying to get us to pay for it all ourselves. Shawn called me and asked if I was going to approve the $1,600 to fix the car. When I asked if that was including the $400 more needed from the insurance company, he said no. I told him no as the insurance company needed to pay the difference. Then he requested that I get the car towed from his store. When I asked him if he was the manager, he said "No, I'm the store owner!" I got the car towed out of there that day as I no longer trusted it being there. Bait and switch tactics are not ok! I'M AN EXTREMELY BUSY LOCAL BUSINESS OWNER SO IF I AM TAKING THE TIME TO DO REVIEWS ON YELP AND GOOGLE, IT IS BECAUSE I'M TRYING TO AVOID ANYONE ELSE HAVING A HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE LIKE I DID! My mother had an issue with her car caused by a Midas technician at the Karl Rd location. She called Shaun to get the general managers contact information, he asked her what the problem was, and told her to bring her car in the very next day to take a look at it. The professionalism and customer service provided by Shaun at this location was above and beyond the expectation. His technician Greg was just as great, he fixed the issue and she left very happy. Shaun reassured her 3 times that he would fix the issue and he did just that. They really made her feel like a valued customer. Service: General repairs & maintenance
