First time renter - made a reservation online and picked up the tools for a 4-hr rental. Staff checking me out was not knowledgeable (did not recognize the word “aerator”) and did not inform me of any of the policies or procedures, but did make sure to charge me $18 for damage protection. $128 for two tools for 4 hours. Only upon return was I informed that I should clean the tools or a fee would be assessed. At that point, I didn’t have the time or requisite assistance to that. So an additional $125 was charged. Unfriendly, unprofessional, and poor service! Don’t make mistake, go local (right next door!)

I also rented items from pretty RUDE Home Depot Employees who for sure HATE WORKING THERE. I happened to stumble onto the Tool Rental Company in FRONT of the Home Depot called Falls Tool Rental....Let me say, CHEAPER PRICES, NEWER TOOLS & MACHINES,and just the MOST FRIENDLY FAMILY OWNERS that were so HELPFUL AND TOOK THE TIME to explain everything and just were AMAZING compared to the RUDE ROBOTS renting out OLD broken down WORN OUT tools at Home Depot. I am amazed that Home Depot is even still open since Menard's moved into town.

We rented a van to move some small items. When picking the van up, staff was friendly but did not review return expectations. They stapled a piece of paper to my receipt indicating it would be $6+ per gallon if returned with less than a full tank. The paper also said to bring your receipt on drop-off or there was a $30+ charge. I assumed they meant the rental receipt, but when I got back they gave me grief for not having a gas receipt. Why they couldn’t just check the gas level, I don’t know. They did not charge me, but were rude about it. The van itself was dirty in the back when we got it- it just needed to be swept out, but it was still gross. Will not rent from here again.

I've been going here for many years and never had much of a problem and actually enjoyed going here. This was until I went with a buddy to rent a stump grinder. After telling the guy our situation and the size of stump he hesitated and told us that it was large but you guys should be okay with the grinder. So he gave us "old blue" and off we went. For the 90% of the stump it was relatively uneventful until the drive belt slipped off and we took it back an hour and a half early with the job still unfinished. Reason would tell you that when the machine goes down the user should be compensated for that time lost. However the 2 guys working there really wanted nothing to deal with that. The one guy told us that the stump we were working on was to big but when we picked it up he hesitated and said that the machine should be fine. The other guy said that I don't feel bad for guys that rent the machine for an hour then bring it back why should I feel bad for you. Considering though that those guys brought it back after a finished job and not because of failure on the machine I don't feel bad for those guys either. However there is still 10% of a stump remaining in the backyard. So not only did we get ripped off for an hour and half of time but also the customer service was clearly lacking. In short I will never be back to home depot which was my a go to hardware store.

Rented the blue Stump Grinder yesterday. Took me over 3 hours to do two 12" stumps. They should call it a Stump Sander and not a grinder. Worked on a 3rd stump and was exhausted after another hour, didn't finish. Told the women the trouble I had at Home Depot, she didn't seem too concerned even though they were all nice enough. I also noticed that I had it under 6 hours though they charged me for a day. Should have been the 4 hour minimum plus 2 hours at best, would have been $10 to $15 less than I was charged. I would suggest skipping the grinder, unless you like using a sander to slowly reduce your stumps.
