Recently, I had to go the local Home Depot store in order to return a small unused paint sample that was supposed to be a "color match". Upon arrival I went to the help desk/return/pickup desk whereon I had to deal with an employee who simply stated persistently that returns for paint simply would not be accepted. Due to my insistence the employee then called the store manager in order to sort out the situation, and things only got worse from that point on. The manager used the same pointless talking points indicating that onto the small paint container it was stated that it is non-returnable. Well, it also says on the paint container that it is a "color match" (which clear this one was not). Subsequently, the manager came up with the most absurd arguments one can possibly imagine, like implying to ask if I did not know the paint color (supposed memorized it) as if the differences between the hundreds of slightly different tones and gradients of white would equate to the difference between red and yellow and thus would be easily identifiable by simply memorizing and later identifying all possible intangible nuances of white from one's memory. After about 15 minutes of that non-sensical situation, I indicated that in case a refund was not issued (I am talking about $5) one would file a complaint against Home Depot (Reynoldsburg, OH) about that incident and concomitantly file a complaint with credit card company in order to receive a refund. Eventually the manager of the store conceded and issue a store credit on the amount of $5 -- which I spent right away since I have no intention to ever return to a Home Depot store again. That was truly one of the most obnoxious and obtuse experiences I have ever hand in any retail setting. Normally, I spend thousands of dollars per year in home improvement stores; but most certainly will never spend even a dime at Home Depot again. ADDENDUM: Note I do painting with some regularity and have had "color match" paints that were not a close enough reproduction of the original paint bought at another stores in the past. At Lowes, for instance, they instantly issued a refund for the paint that was not a proper match. It is already bad enough having to waste one's time and money going to a store to buy a "color match" paint sample and then finding out that it was not what it was supposed to be. Subsequently having to spend even more time and money going back to the same store in order to obtain refund or an actual color match paint issued... After all that unnecessary spent of time and money (without any type of adequate compensation), the fact one still has to deal with that horrible ordeal is by no means acceptable. In an ideal and just situation Home Depot should not only accept the item instantly and relay proper apologies for their incompetence in providing a product as described, but also subsequently provide one with proper monetary compensation for the time and money that one had to spend due to their incompetence.

If you are looking for great customer service with knowledgeable associates then this is not the place for you. Because I was trying to do a phone sale, they told me they had contact someone to make sure I was legit. Remind you, I've been coming here every day for a month and have all my receipts from when I made purchases via phone sale. The manager when requested for him just brushed me off and told me that I look suspicious. So to all the pro members if you are doing a phone sale try doing it before 5 because these unintelligent "Customer Service" employees are not here to provide you with customer service.

If you have to get a door from there. Don’t do it! We tried to get a door there. They’re terrible. You have to pay 40 dollars for an estimate. Then after a week or so later when they decide to call back they ask you physically come to the store even when you already have a door from the Home Depot website. Then after you get there, they tell you they have the door in store and they can’t order it. That’s after 35 minutes of waiting to be seen. Take it from me. They don’t know what they’re doing there.

I purchased a 2nd refrigerator from home depot, it had a water attachment in which they did the installation. That 12 yrs ago. I purchased another refrigerator and the nightmare began. The driver got mad at me and left the old and new refrigerator at my, and home depot refuse to pick it up...buyers beware.

spent 1.5 hours hunting down multiple people to get a tool from behind the locks. only for a person who finally helped to say it wasnt instock. if tools are going to require associates. then having someone on standby would help. ohio power tools has better tools/service anyways. got the tool instock in 5 min

Posted sign for sale price and gentlemen in the garden department had been so helpful and told me 3x they were on sale and then get to check out where it didn't "scan"on sale and was sent back from register 2 to garden center for photo of sale sign. Then told they can't override the vendor's price when you get back the length of the store 2nd trip with the photo and was spending $175 on other things. Empower employees or have managers or take down your sale signs on table full of flowers. Needless to say, I went home without them disappointed. I Considered having my whole order returned but needed some of things that night

8:30pm In a last ditch effort my friend and I set out on our quest to patch a tear in his carpet. Mind you this was 1 day before he had to be out of his apartment due to lease being up. The associates in flooring (I believe Amy and Randy) were 100% on top of their game. They Helped us get exactly what we needed extremely fast and at a great price. On the way out we asked Holly where the hammers were and without blinking an eye she sent us to isle 12. Finally we were greeted with a big smile and an amazing cashier at isle 1. GREAT EXPERIENCE

We bought a Samsung washer/dryer pair and we absolutely love it! Cecelia was able to answer all of our questions and order the set we wanted. She's very knowledgeable. Delivery and installation went perfectly as well. We will definitely shop Home Depot again and reccomend this store to family & friends.

Quite a nice selection of backsplash options. The floor options were limited and quiet messy the day when we were there. A nice gentleman employee came down the isle and explained a measuring discount that was going on. All in all, not many employees in aisles, but that is the norm anywhere right now.
